Just to hear you say you love or hate me
I'll take anything
I just wanna hear your voice
Cuttin' through the line like a heart shaped knife
Cut me down baby, one more time
Good or bad baby
Yes, no, maybeIt's drivin' me crazy
Won't you pick up the phone
I can pick up some wine
I can pick you up in my pick-up truck
And we can pick up right where we left off
Ain't that what we both want
Pick up the pieces girl
It ain't that broke
Pick up the past and just let it go
Put down that over me
Never wanna see me again
Goodbye kinda stuff and pick-up
You're putting me through hell one ring voicemail
Baby I can tell that you ain't on the other line
Accept, naw, Ddcline
How can I tell you if you won't listen
How can I tell you what I've been missin'
If you don't, don't, don't
If you won't, won't, won't
Won't you pick up the phone
I can pick up some wine
I can pick you up in my pick-up truck
And we can pick up right where we left offAin't that what we both want
Pick up the pieces girl
It ain't that broke
Pick up the past and just let it go
Put down that over me
Never wanna see me again
Goodbye kinda stuff and pick-up
Put down the mistakes we made
And the words we didn't mean to say
And pick up the phone
I can pick up some wine
I can pick you up in my pick-up truck
And we can pick up right where we left off
Ain't that what we both want
Pick up the pieces girl
It ain't that broke
Pick up the past and just let it go
Put down that over me
Never wanna see me again
Goodbye kinda stuff and pick-up
Baby, pick up
I dialed seven digits five times today
Just to hear you say you love or hate me
I just want a hear your voice
In Dierks Bentley's song "Pick Up," the singer expresses his desire to connect with someone he cares about. The first stanza of the song speaks to this feeling of desperation, as the singer dials the same number five times in one day, hoping to hear a response. He doesn't care whether the response is good or bad, he just wants to know that he can still connect with this person. The metaphor of the heart-shaped knife cuts through the line, emphasizing the pain of the situation. Despite this pain, the singer still wants to reconnect, suggesting that perhaps the relationship is not irreparably broken. The chorus of the song repeats the theme of the singer's desire to "pick up" where they left off, suggesting that he feels there is unfinished business between them. The final stanza emphasizes the need to move past mistakes and misunderstandings in order to move forward and connect.
Overall, "Pick Up" is a song that speaks to the universal desire for human connection. The singer's desperate attempts to reach this person are relatable to anyone who has ever wanted to reconnect with someone after a relationship has soured. The metaphor of the heart-shaped knife cutting through the line adds depth and emotion to the song, conveying the pain and urgency of the situation.

Late, I know, but just want to thank you for taking my daughter back stage and being kind to her after a horrible accident on the highway in East Texas. Thank you, for being kind, considerate, and giving her a second chance on life with your positive thoughts and prayers...you truly sent her on her way. You are a saint. xxoo T :)

Dierks is one of the best true troubadours in country music. He writes and sings some of the best love and heartache songs in any genre. His voice always seems to convey the exact emotions the song requires to make it really hit a person. He may do that better than anyone with his ballads. Whether he's singing about love, cheating, or breaking up his tone is always right on point.
