1. Dio was an American heavy metal band formed in 1982 and led by vocalist Ronnie James Dio. Dio left Black Sabbath with intentions to form a new band with fellow former Black Sabbath drummer Vinny Appice. The name Dio was chosen because it made sense from a commercial standpoint, as the name was already well known at that time. The band released ten studio albums and had numerous lineup changes over the years, with Dio himself being the only constant member. Guitarists included Vivian Campbell, Craig Goldy, Doug Aldrich, Warren DeMartini, Tracy G, Jake E. Lee and Rowan Robertson. The band dissolved in 2010 when Ronnie James Dio died of stomach cancer at the age of 67. Dio has sold more than 20 million albums worldwide.

Underrated guitarist!\m/
@bernardodelatorre5243
Why underrated??? He always was top.
@angelupus
Underrated I don’t think so… at least not by real guitar players nor by pro musicians.
He is just not as famous as the usual ones always quoted as influences (Vai, Satriani, Malmsteen among others…) and I think that’s because he always played in big bands (Dio, Whitesnake, Def Leppard, Thin Lizzy…) and not in a personal project (meaning his own band), and he shares the job usually with another «guitar monster « (Phil Collen in Def Leppard for example)..
This solo was played in 1984!!! This guy is huge and stuff seems so easy to him…
Being recognized by the profession is what counts… in my opinion V. Campbell is..
But underrated, no… (needs to be deaf listening to this and not noticing his outstanding talent)..
@hoosierdaddy2308
I saw Dio on this tour and Vivian was great. I remember Dio introduced him and said Vivian Campbell and his magic guitar! :-)
@tonycolbourne7694
Went to see Dio on this tour in Birmingham UK. Amazing gig but Viv blew everone away with his solo spot. Such an underrated player. Great to see him in Leppard. 👍😊
@russellcarey3877
Vivian is pure skill from the school of the Irish style INVENTED by Gary Moore and you can here the Moore influence in John Sykes. Gary Moore TRUELY INVENTED the spiral climbing riffs. Vivian uses it but he makes it his own. He said. At least I LEARNED from the best in a old interview. Vivian and his manic guitar
@summermcpherson8209
He's one of my favorite guitarists ever :)
@zolitariglussey6302
Years later................ He's a smashing success and all the guitar kids WISH they could be like him!!
@missymyers9786
Omg. I saw this tour in Harrisburg City Island (by Three Mile) and at THIS show in Philly! Forget this one. Soooo many bands n memories at the Spectrum, n at my bro n sis in laws in Philly while in town for shows. Everyone who considered that place their stomping ground thru all their teen years, def misses that place, n had a hard time seeing it imploded n replaced.
@robertneusch
Who did they play with was it Yngwie Malmsteen? Or Twisted sister maybe. I saw maybe this tour or The last in line tour maybe 1985 there when I was 15
