I won't answer the phone when your world tumbles down,
You can call me,
Any old time of the day,
And I'll be there.
If you ever need someone to cry to,
I've got a shoulder to spare,
Remember, I still care.
My heart still loves you so,
It doesn't matter that you left my arms.
My arms still need you so,
And even though you walked out of my life,
You are my life,
You are my love,
For always!
In Dionne Warwick's song "Any Old Time of Day," the lyrics express a willingness to forgive and forget past wrongs done by a lover. The singer is saying to their former lover that even though they have "been running around" and have broken the singer's heart, they will still be there for them when they need them. They offer a shoulder to cry on and express that they still care about them, no matter what.
The chorus of the song emphasizes the strength of their love, even though the former lover has left their life. The singer proclaims that their former lover is "my life" and "my love" for always, regardless of whatever has happened in the past. Overall, the song is a hopeful expression of forgiveness and unconditional love.
