Joy to the world
In the song "Joy to the World" by Dionne Warwick, the singer is calling for everyone to rejoice and celebrate as the Lord has come to Earth. The lyrics highlight the presence of God as the King of the world and that everybody should prepare their hearts for him. It calls to heaven and nature to join in the song of celebration in honor of the Savior that has been born. The song encourages people to tell stories about the wonder of the Lord's birth and the new story of salvation he has brought to the world.
Throughout the song, different elements of nature such as fields, flocks, and hills are encouraged to repeat the sounding joy to herald the arrival of the Savior. The chorus repeats the message that everyone should sing joy to the world as the Lord has come to reign and spread his blessings. The last line of the song makes it clear that this joy should be universal as it calls on everyone all over the world, without discrimination, to sing joy to the world.
