You've Lost That Lovin' Feeling

And there's no tenderness like before in your fingertips
Mmm, you're tryin' hard not to show it, baby
But baby, baby I know it
You've lost that lovin' feelin' me like you used to do
You know that,
We had a love, a love, a love you don't find every day,
So don't, don't, don't, don't, baby don't throw it away
Na na, don't throw it away, don't throw it away
Now baby, oh baby, I beg you baby, oh baby
I beg you please, I need your love
So bring it on back, bring it back
Bring it back, bring it, bring it, bring it back
Bring back that lovin' feelin' o-o-oh that lovin' feelin'
Dionne Warwick's song "You've Lost That Lovin' Feeling" is a plea from a person who feels that their partner no longer loves them as they used to. The lyrics in the first stanza express the singer's frustration with the lack of intimacy in the relationship. The lack of eye contact and the absence of tenderness in the partner's touch illustrate this sentiment. However, the partner is trying to play it cool, even though the singer knows that something is off.
In the second stanza, the singer tells the partner that they have lost the love they used to have. The line "We had a love, a love, a love you don't find every day" emphasizes the loss of something rare and special. However, the singer implores the partner not to throw it away, pleading with them to bring back the love they once shared.
Overall, the song captures the feeling of desperation and longing that people experience when they fear they are losing their partner's love. The lyrics are simple, direct, and heartfelt, making it easy for listeners to relate to the emotions of the singer.
