flowers
Dirty Palm Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Wanted you to see the best part of me
Never knew that I could fall so quickly
Now it's over and I can't stop thinking
Will we ever be the same?

I got over all the shit that you said
I admit that it all went to my head
Got a little crazy there at the end
At the end

I'm still holdin' on to all the stupid flowers
They were your mistakes but you said they were ours
Now they're dried up, dead, and sitting in my closet
And I'm tryna find the strength to go and lock it and throw away the key

I'm still holding on to all the stupid flowers
They were your mistakes but you said they were ours
Now they're dried up, dead, and sitting in my closet
And I'm tryna find the strength to go and lock it and throw away the key

Wanted you to see the best part of me
Never knew that I could fall so quickly
Now it's over and I can't stop thinking
Will we ever be the same?

I got over all the shit that you said
I admit that it all went to my head
Got a little crazy, there at the end
At the end

I'm still holding on to all the stupid flowers
They were your mistakes but you said they were ours
Now they're dried up, dead, and sitting in my closet
And I'm tryna find the strength to go and lock it and throw away the key

I'm still holding on to all the stupid flowers
They were your mistakes but you said they were ours

Now they're dried up, dead, and sitting in my closet
And I'm tryna find the strength to go and lock it and throw away the key

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to Dirty Palm's song "Flowers" explore the aftermath of a failed relationship. The singer wanted their partner to see the best in them and fell in love quickly, but the relationship did not work out. Despite the hurtful things their partner said, they became a bit "crazy" in the end. The singer is still holding on to the "stupid flowers" that were given to them as a mistake by their partner but said to be shared between them. These flowers are now dead and sitting in their closet, and the singer is trying to find the strength to let go of the relationship and move on, symbolized by throwing away the key.

The song explores the pain that can come with relationships, especially when one person feels hurt, misled, or wronged. The repetition of the chorus, with the line "I'm still holding on to all the stupid flowers," emphasizes the difficulty of letting go of someone you cared about deeply, even if they caused you pain. The song also highlights how even small things, like a bouquet of flowers, can hold significant meaning and evoke strong emotions.

Complete perfection. The bass on this drop is immense, the leads are so big, and the melody is sooo smooth. The vocals are amazing also. What a huge collab from Conor and Dirty Palm.

Also all you young producers out there, u should be looking for inspiration from guys like Conor Ross. Man is 16 and is making some of the best music in the scene rn.
