pounding life
they give me names, swear words and pain
at night - wake night, be bathed in sweat
pounding life
in the morning I catch a sight of...
pounding life
no will to give me bad names... pounding life
no way to love me... pounding life
isolated from life... feel the pounding life
The lyrics to Disbelief's "Pounding" seem to convey a sense of oppression and struggle against an external force. The line "they want your heart, they want that I'm apart" suggests that there are people or entities that desire the subject's vulnerability and separation from others. The repeated phrase "pounding life" may indicate a sense of being beaten down or overwhelmed by the challenges of existence. The following lines further elaborate on this idea, with the subject being subjected to insults, pain, and night terrors. The final three lines express a sense of hopelessness and isolation, as the subject feels disconnected from the world around them and unable to find love or acceptance.
Overall, these lyrics could be seen as a commentary on the difficulties of being true to oneself in a society that may seek to undermine or destroy those who do not fit within its norms. The repeated use of the phrase "pounding life" suggests that even daily life can feel like a relentless assault, with no respite from the struggles and oppression faced by the subject.
