SAVIOR
Disciple Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Laughter, that's so part of her
Is something that we haven't heard
In such a long, long time
Replaced with crying long sleepless nights

She needs Your power, Lord
Pour it all over
In her darkest hour, Lord
Pour it all over

'Cause I know You love her more than I could love her
You've already given more than I could offer
So I put my hope in You
'Cause I know You can save her, Jesus, Savior

The problem hidden inside
Is screaming something's not right
And I would lay down my world
To reach out and fix what's broken in her

She needs Your power, Lord
Pour it all over
In her darkest hour, Lord
Pour it all over

'Cause I know You love her more than I could love her
You've already given more than I could offer
So I put my hope in You
'Cause I know You can save her, Jesus, Savior

Deep within every stripe is the hope that I find within You

'Cause I know You love her more than I could love her
You've already given more than I could offer
So I put my hope in You, all of my faith in You

'Cause I know You can save her, Jesus, Savior
'Cause I know You can save her, Jesus, Savior

Overall Meaning

The song "Savior" by Disciple is a plea to God to intervene in the life of a loved one who is going through a difficult time. The lyrics describe the pain and anguish that this person is experiencing, as well as the sense of helplessness felt by the singer. They acknowledge that they cannot fix what is broken within this person, but put their hope and faith in God to provide comfort and healing.

The opening lines describe the stark contrast between the laughter that used to be a part of this person's life and the tears and sleepless nights that have replaced it. The singer recognizes that this person needs God's power in their darkest hour, and implores Him to pour it all over them. The chorus reinforces the idea that God's love is greater than any human love, and that he has already given more than the singer could offer. The bridge speaks of the hope that is found within God, even in the midst of suffering.

Overall, the song is a reminder that when we are faced with situations that are beyond our control, we can turn to God for help and hope. It acknowledges the limitations of human love and power, but proclaims the endless love and power of God.

I encourage you to understand the difference between religious people and those who have an intimate relationship between God and them through our Lord Jesus Christ. If you have never read the bible how do you know that He God talked about religion and religious people and their traditions? I encourage you to deeply ask yourself what is their more in life and where will you go after you die. The Gospel of Jesus Christ is not a definition of religion. Men put that definition true Christianity is a relationship simple and true nothing and no one will ever compare. I Love you with the truth and even especially when I don't know you from Adam and

This song goes out to my mom.. Sometimes our mothers need a prayer like this too. As much as she's prayed over me, this is to her in return. Even if she doesn't like Disciple's music style, sometimes a song is more than just the music it's played to.

Mii Cloves

I wish more people fall in love with Jesus.

This song means so much to me.. My life's never been easy, but I always had a faith, sometimes not in Jesus, but now I know He's real and in all of us. Just imagine there's someone who really hopes in you. <3

He loves me more that is true. Still pours his love upon me like rain. Such a giving father. No one else like him.

I rediscovered this song during a nostalgic binge and I want to cry out of a sense of loss yes but also our of a sense of gratitude for the faithfulness of God.
In 2010 back in 7th and 8th grade I had a friend who was practically a sister to me. She struggled with depression and anxiety for much of her life and I would often talk to her when she was struggling with suicidal thoughts. my constant fear for her life often drove me to pray for her constantly, I was 12 at the time and this was what caused me to turn to the Lord more often and I learned to trust Him to protect her and save her through it all. I would often sing this song privately to God constantly on her behalf.
Five years ago she killed herself. Although some will probably disagree with this, I know that she loved Jesus and He did not abandon her because God’s love is greater than our sin even the sin of suicide.
I thank Christ for answering my prayer all those years ago to save my friend and I pray that by His grace I will see her again.

Don't know why I'm up at 3am reading this comment, listening to this song again in almost a decade, but God bless you brother. His love extends far beyond what we could even hope to begin to comprehend.. God is good... always.
