Hello there as my name is Thomas I know quite a little about Saint Thomas. So in the Ethiopian Orthodox Church we believe that Saint Thomas actually preached in India and that’s why there is a small Indian Orthodox Church they used to be much larger but sadly most of them including the bishops and priests were killed leaving only a small portion. As for his death we believe that he was captured and that they peeled his skin from his body and collected all his teeth from his mouth and then added salt and lemon to his flesh to make him burn even more. It was truly one of the worst deaths. (If you’re still reading as a member of the Ethiopian Orthodox Church I just want to let you know that is Christian’s are being killed on mass in Ethiopia and really need your help to spread awareness nearly 1 million people have been killed in silence over the past 2 years. I'm from Kerala. It is believed that St Thomas arrived in Muziris port, Kerala in 52 A.D and propagated Christianity here. The Europeans(Christians) who first arrived in Kerala (in India as well) in 1498 AD were Portuguese. But Christianity existed here way before they have arrived. What I love about videos like this is they highlight that Jesus' disciples were flesh and blood people like you and I. Within tradition the disciples are vaunted and lionized almost as if myths but they walked around the earth laboring and struggling with the same fears buttressed by hope as anyone does today. Crucifixion the Roman world was a punishment generally reserved for the worst offenders, so I think it unlikely that the Romans, not exactly known for their kindness towards those they considered criminals, would have allowed Peter or Andrew to dictate the terms of their crucifixions. In Peter's case, if indeed true, it would more likely have been a cruel piece of Roman performance art at his expense. There is nothing at all remarkable about Andrew's demise, as the "x" shaped cross was common.

Or probably they were all just crucified normally. The church makes up alot of stuff. Even in the bible Paul, the only writer that could have known Jesus, never mentioned miracles of Jesus. Actually, more honesty and factual information would be better than hear-say. Read your Bible and show me where the apostles died a martyrs death. Except for Judas and James (son of Zebedee) there is nothing in the Bible talking about the death of any other Apostle.

He must have lived for quite some time, as if I've done my math right, most of the apostles lived about a good 30 years after Jesus's death, give or take. John would have lived over 60 years longer. Maybe as low as into his 80s depending on how old he was in 33 AD, but that's still decent, even accounting for theories of people only living into their 30s being the byproduct of misunderstanding arithmetic means, with the actual mode being closer to 60s or 70s.

I am impressed and grateful that you handled this subject with respect. I know not everyone follows Jesus, but it seems the vast majority of videos on YouTube that deal with Jesus' life are hell-bent on "proving" He is not the Son of God. We all have free will, and those people can think whatever they like, but it's so nice to find something relating to Christianity that isn't intent on bashing my faith or making these men of faith look silly. I got a somewhat wry chuckle out of Phillip's death not being due to natural causes. With the Apostles, martyrdom pretty much WAS a natural cause. One thing, though: You did not say Judas' death was a suicide. He hanged himself. His intestines burst out because his corpse slipped from the noose and hit the ground.

Because it was considered blood money, it could not be placed back into the temple treasury. I actually question some of the more sketchy details this YouTuber has provided. Something very simple like the fact that James, the brother of Jesus, would have been known as James, the son of Joseph and not James, son of Alphaeus. He suggests in his description of the second James's death that it was speculated that he might have been Jesus's brother who according to the Bible, all of Jesus's brothers rejected him until after his death.

You must study religion I assume? The second thing just because your believer doesn't make you perfect. The third thing you can have a relationship with Jesus without opening up the Bible because all those people the apostles didn't have the Bible. They had some type of book. It just shows you that every single one of us must carry his own cross. They were the closest ones to Jesus, his friends, his disciples, his Apostles but they didn't receive any special treatment or an exclusion from suffering. People often get an illness and expect Jesus to instantly heal them because they prayed and asked for it and if it doesn't happen, they quickly despair and blame God.

It is clearly recorded in Kerala's History and Multiple king's official written Documents. He established 7 and half churches across Kerala and later died in Mylapore Tamilnadu...Heck it is clearly stated in the Bible about the Journey of St.Thomas to Kerala. Its interesting that the 'lesser known' disciples (or most of them) had books they ascribed, i.e. Gospel of Phillip, Gospel of Thomas, Gospel of Judas, etc. They weren't included in what we know as our Bible today, but many of these books can still be purchased and I would recommend reading them because they've been very eye-opening in understanding the disciples point of view and Jesus's teachings.

@Peaceman 707 But nowadays it's a well known fact that the gospels weren't written by the people in whose names they have been ascribed to. For one fact, Paul certainly wrote most of his letters as corroborated by various Biblical scholars. But most of the New Testament were written by later authors decades after the death of Jesus and even of the named disciples themselves. These later authors just simply transcribed a long tradition of oral history into paper and that's how we got the New Testament.

While in India I found out there is a mount in Madras called Thomas mount. The story is that Thomas evangelized India from the south through Kerala and made it as far as Madras where he was matyred. He was killed in Mylapore, Madras (Tamil Nadu) by a local Hindu priest piercing his chest with javelin buried there, now inside the church managed by Catholic church There is a church he built on top of a hill in Mylapore, presently known after his name St. Thomas Mount where Aramaic inscriptions inside and outside the church are seen as of today. 🙏🙏🙏

There is no account from the followers of Christ that Peter was ever in Rome. But Simon Magus (Acts 8:9-24) from Samaria that went to Rome as a follower of Phillip whom was a Desciple of Christ. But the Church of Rome promoted such. There is no account of Peter writing to any of followers or fellow disciples from Rome, as prisoners had this privilege.

Therefore that account of Simon Peter is incorrect.
