U have a good reach with brand,will like to see more brands coming in fixed gear segment with some affordable price,considering this is not available in Indian market and if any brands there are way more expensive,under 12k will be good

Hey man. I am a fellow Scolarian rider. I highly appreciate your content and respect your wonderful explanations around embracing fixed gear riding. Just gonna point a technicality here based on " https://www.bikecalc.com/gear_inches" : A 46T crank and 16T rear cog has 76.20 gear inches for 700X25C tyre setup, while a 48T crank and 17T rear cog has 74.61 gear inches for the same tyre setup. Hence, a 46X16 is typically a faster / harder gear than 48X17. AKA, it takes a bit more strain on your knees and muscles than your cardio. Like you mentioned, you prefer a 48X17 gear setup and that is golden if it works for you climbing faster and accelerating harder. It all comes down to personal preference in the end. I currently run a 44X14 setup and looking forward to upgrade to a 48X14 setup in the future.

Hey yes... im aware of Bikecalc love the calculator also yes... I messed up the 46x16 part .
and yes gear ratio setup and preferences is completely based on personal preference :)
48x15 is what I've been riding for a while now and its pretty bad ass so id advise to first try 48x15 cus 48x14 is pretty much Crit setup and will be hard especially on the climbs

I am a Scolarian biker too! When you start riding regularly, you tend to outgrow the gear setup. In straight, gleaming tarmac, you want more from the bike...I am also planning to "upgrade" to 48 but maybe a 48X16!

The Pedal straps are a prototype from Scolarian bikes in coimbatore. They should have them for sale soon.
Fixed wheel hub ...I can't remember the places name ...ill mention it once I remember sorry.

44x16 is a terrible ratio if you skid because you only have 4 skid patches and will go though tires quickly. Also, 46x16 is actually more gear inches than 48x17; it’s just barely, but it’s not a larger gear like you make it seem. Having a 17 in the back is preferable because you get 17 skid patches, regardless of what you put in the front.

sure man, I understand the gear ratios and the skid patches part of it but u don't understand that not many people ride fixed in India and im making it not sound so out there and complex. I could go into the details about all of it ... but im doing it nice and slow.

@CAR so while riding especially that aggressive the front of the body is at an angle and my seat is adjusted so that I can spend as much time on the saddle in that position without having to change position. and it works extremely well :)
