Regarding the creation of the moon, I believe the scientific hypothesis of a smaller planet colliding with young earth. Geologists can see large shapes inside the earth that prove that something collided with it. The fact that other planets have moons makes our moon quite common. I do think there may be ETs on the far side of the moon - perfect base location.

While writing a math paper, I realized that when the Moon is mostly dark, the other side is mostly lighted by the Sun. Basically, half of the Moon is lighted just like Earth has day and night.
