Update: after resetting TV, lower backlight brightness to 50% in tv menu then do firmware update via internet or USB drive to prevent future errors. if error happens again and again you must replace LED backlight strips, see that fix here- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YgaL6X6eSaU&t=30s

Hi. Thank you for your informative videos. I also have a screen problem with a 32inch Sharp LCD TV and was hoping that you would be able to point me in the right direction to find the solution. Every time we turn the TV on the image goes out after about a second, but sound remains. There is a bit of flicker before the screen turns black. To get the screen to stay on we have to repeatedly switch it to standby mode and back on again. Sometimes it takes three attempts and other times up to ten. First of all, thank you for your videos. They’re easy to follow and I appreciate your time. I tried all of you fix options, but none have worked. I have had this 55” Sharp TV model LC55P8000U for LESS THAN 8 months and it already stopped working. When I try to turn it on with the remote the red power light stays on but nothing happens. If I press power again, it blinks 5 times and then turns off. To make things even more confusing, sometimes when I press the power button from the remote there is a 3-4 second delay and then the red light blinks 5 times. And AGAIN, sometimes it’ll blink 10 times. I’m so confused. I keep reading about trying the reset where you hold down the volume and input buttons, but my tv DOESN’T HAVE BUTTONS!! It only has one joystick thing that has engraved arrows for up, down, left, right, and the center button says ‘ok’. I tried that process with my remote buttons... still nothing. Any chance you can help?

To you or anyone else that may know, I have a hitachi LE42S605 that my 2 yr old son decided he wanted to 'water' while we stepped out of the room...yay. Needless to say it doesn't work now, and I took it apart, and found where the t-con ribbon comes off the board to the bottom of the screen, is blackened and corroded and you can see where it was wet. Can that be replaced? Not on the board side, but the screen side. I haven't fully disassembled it yet to check, but it doesn't look like it.

Hi and thanks for your videos. My LC-60LE835U was completely dead, so I replaced the powerboard. With the new board, the arrow under the Sharp logo started doing two blinks, a short and a long one.
I did as you suggested and nothing happens, but when I push the Power + Channel Up buttons with the TV already plugged, all the buttons come alive, the blinking turns to a steady signal and after a few seconds, the screen briefly shows HDMI1 as the current input (nothing is plugged there), turns off and goes blinking again, one short one long. Any clue?

Thank you very much for the great video. It worked on my LC70LX732H fit the first time. However, after the factory reset, it did not come up and the light kept blinking. Then I tried to repeat the step - “plugging in the power while pressing Vol Down and Input”... then screen does not turn on again! Anything else I can try?

I had to do this three times but on the third attempt it worked perfectly. Not sure why it did not work the first couple of times and i am sure I followed the directions to the detail but when I got to the green screen and shut it off, I then unplugged and replugged and the arrow light flashed the first two times. This seemed to work. I went through all the steps and got my picture back. The only problem I noticed is every time I unplug the TV and plug it back in again, I have to go through the whole process all over again. Does this mean that the motherboard or something on this TV is on its way out?

Hey Tampatec, I'm hoping you can provide me with some clarification as to whether the below is correct or whether I have been taken for a ride.
My LG was picked up by a repair service as it started displaying horizonal lines with the picture hazily in the background. After some research I learned that in most cases one of the boards need replacing and it typically wasn't a panel issue (if I understand correctly, panel issues are typically associated with vertical lines). After having my TV for 5 days the repair service advised that it required a new power board and a small repair on another board. They repaired the small repair and I was going to purchase a new power board however the TV has been returned to me dead. It now doesn't even turn on. The power/channel/indicator lights at the bottom flash on then switch off automatically. When I questioned him he kept changing his story and mentioned that whilst testing he was short circuiting the tv. Based on this information, can you tell me what they've done to the TV? Has the short circuiting led to a dead tv?
And...
Is it acceptable for the TV to leave my possession with a repairable issue and be returned to me dead with no service report?
I'd really appreciate your advice!

Another happy customer! For my model it was hold volume down and TV/VIDEO for LC-22LE520X-BK then the LED light turns orange and channel up and down brought it to life and it is now reset.

Hello Tampatec. I am reaching out to seek some advice/help. I would be glad if you could somehow help me here. I've got a Sharp Aquos LC-42DH77 that had a red blinking LED light and after doing the "Input and Vol-" tip, it now has a constant green LED but no picture at all. Not even the OSD comes on. I checked for visible defects on the capacitors but could not find any. Is there any tip you would have for me? I would really appreciate it. Thank you kindly.

Hi Paul, I saw your video for resetting the Sharp LC-70LE & LC-60LE. I have a Sharp LC-60LE, which has the same problems with the difference that flashes error makes 2 flashes low-speed + 5 flashes High speed.

The reset in your video worked for seven or eight months but no longer fixes the problem. My model is LC-70LE735U wanting to know if you have a video on testing the bus line on the main logic board before I order the part you refer to on your video . Cause the videos I can find that you have are quite different layout than mine.

I have a 40", pretty sure it's a standard LCD predating LED from 2011. This got the TV on, but it does appear to have a legitimate backlight issue as it constantly flickers in brightness. The first thought is a backlight inverter board, though I've seen all kinds of issues caused by the main power supply itself. Do you happen to have any advice on testing for faults in the inverter board?

I recently switched cable carriers: from Direct TV back to U-verse (which was not without significant heartburn, it took 3 techs to complete the switch). Suddenly the picture on my 52" Sharp plasma TV began flickering and went out! The U-verse tech said my TV has gone bad. I was beside myself and refused to believe it.
