@PKPAPN he actually legit cut his hand during that, when he slams the glass it wasn’t meant to happen and that’s why everyone’s reaction is genuine shock, luckily he stayed in character and completed the scene which earned him a standing ovation from the crew, it was later looked at and bandaged up which can also be seen when he interrogates Kerry Washington (sorry I forgot the name of the character)

Fun fact: In the movie, Django is sitting next to the white guy at the bar and tells him that the "D" in his name is silent, to which he responds that he knows. That white guy is none other than Franco Nero, the protagonist in the original Django from 1966. That's how he 'knew'. Did I mention Tarantino is a fcking genius?

It’s a great theft of a gritty, low-budget, 1966 spaghetti western called simply, Django.
It’s an Italian/Spanish production and cast. The SONG, and singer, was from 1966.

All Tarantino did was take someone else’s genius - and repackage it with 21st Century moviegoers in mind (Hence, the painfully over-emphasized, brutal racial slant to titillate naive people who don’t know history)

I actually like how there's a certain dichotomy with the violence in this film. With the slave owners, the violence is larger than life and near-cartoonish, while with the slaves it's horrifyingly realistic and disturbing.

Though I haven't seen Django since it came out, this song was randomly in my head the past few days. Looking back, it fit wonderfully with the opening scene of him being led along, chained behind a horse and rider, to begin his journey of finding his lost love. When Tarantino's on, he's on.

First time i watched i was searching in the TV channels in a hotel during a trip. I wasnt expecting to find nothing.
Then, suddenly, after a commercial of toothpaste, this music starts. Some names start to pop up, but they are not only names. Quentin Tarantino, Samuel.L Jackson, Leonardo Dicaprio...no, they are not only names. They are names of legends.
I got hella hyped instanteniously. It ended up it was even better than what i thought it would be

This is by far the best western ever made. There are some pretty good classics. But i think if Quentin Tarantino regularly made westerns, a new era of western movies would rise. This was an outstanding western, even though many parts were supposed to be humorous it did not take away from the typical western seriousness.

It's strange that few people know the original 1966 Django, the music is made for the original 66 movie, the Man who asks what Django's name at the bar is the original Django (Franco Nero). If you don't mind a little dated special effects, I highly recommend seeing it. I got to know Django through Tarantino and Jaime Foxx but after seeing the original Django, I realized a forgotten relic. Even though I was born in the 2000s, my favorite Django is Franco Nero's, and if you ask Tarantino himself, his might also be
