Saí na porta de casa
Olhei pro céu e pensei:
Parece que vai chover
Parece que vai chover
Parece que vai chover
O amor que trago no peito
Morena de endoidecer
Morena de endoidecer
Morena de endoidecer
Morena de endoidecer
Vai pensamento, vai
Viajar de navio pra ver
Que fim levou minha vida
Quando você foi embora
O céu deu de escurecer
Será que eu fiquei chorando, ô ô
Parece que vai chover
Será que fiquei chorando, ô ô
Parece que vai chover
Será que eu fiquei chorando, ô ô
Parece que vai chover
The lyrics of Djavan's song "Morena de Endoidecer" depict a sense of nostalgia and emptiness that the singer feels after his love interest leaves him, conveyed through the repetition of the phrase "parece que vai chover" (it seems like it's going to rain). The singer immerses himself in thoughts and memories, looking for answers to the questions that haunt him, as he contemplates the magnitude of the love he once had, described as "carga pra mais de dez" (a load for ten).
The lyrics of the song also celebrate the beauty and allure of the woman in question, the "Morena de Endoidecer," which translates to "Crazy Brunette." The repetitive chorus emphasizes her captivating nature, which drives the singer mad with desire, even after she has left him. The song's melody and rhythm match the coexistence of longing and sensuality, with jazzy and sultry elements that intersect and flow into each other.
The lyrics of "Morena de Endoidecer" convey a range of emotions that anyone who has experienced love and loss can relate to. The song's melancholic theme balances the sensuous rhythms, creating a timeless classic that speaks to generations.
