1) DMP aka Doorman’s Project is a reggae band from the Solomon Islands' capital city of Honiara. Their sound is a fusion of Roots Reggae, island rhythms, and fast tempos. Their music is distinguished by soulful harmonies, memorable melodies, and moving lyrics that address the problems and difficulties of common people.
DMP has over ten years of experience and has become one of the most well-known Reggae acts in the Pacific Islands. Their live performances are proof of their capacity to emotionally engage audiences with their music on a deep level and of the worldwide appeal of their music that cuts beyond cultural and geographic borders.
The songs of DMP are a tribute to the tenacity and power of the human spirit, and they capture the spirit of their people. Their message is one of optimism and hope, and their music is a celebration of life, love, and harmony. DMP's contribution to the reggae genre is evidence of how music has the ability to unite people and spur social change.
Blad P2a, Evin Rush, Mossa, Arak & Victor Lopez make up the group 'DMP aka Doorman's Project' with numerous smash hits singles known throughout the Pacific and having released five studio albums ' Projectile, Square One, Wine Up, Life Is A Road Vol. 1 & Long Way Home.
In 2021, 'DMP' featured on the Cali Roots Riddim 2.3 which was produced by Collie Buddz & Johnny Cosmic ( Stick Figure ) and in 2022 partnered up with the worlds leading independent reggae label ' Ineffable Records 'to release their highly anticipated album 'Long Way Home! International Artists featured on the album are ‘ Demarco, R.City, Konshens, Anthony B, iyaz, Da' Ville, & Small Jam
2) D.M.P., which stands for "Durte Muzik Prahdukshun". They released a E.P. in 2004 and a mixtape/album on Koch Records, titled Nottz Presents D.M.P., in 2005.
In 2012 the group re-emerged with another Nottz executive produced mixtape entitled "Live From Early Street" - MCs appearing on the new tape include Big Shot, Starboy, Khizman, Boogie, Top Gee and Ivory Kees (presumed members of the group itself along side the producer Nottz who supplies all the beats). The tape also sees features from Phonte and DJ Premier. The mixtape cover suggests a full length album entitled "God Made Durt! will be released in fall 2012. Download the free mixtape HERE.
