I think it’s sad that we never seem to talk about Rose in terms other than her romance with the Doctor. She was also brave, spunky, and intensely loyal. She made things lighter and better while also holding her own most of the time. She laughed and she cried in a really human way, and she went from being kind of directionless to developing a confidence in herself and her abilities. That’s what I love most about her.

When I finally watched Doomsday, I actually physically, mentally and emotionally broke down. Rose wasn't "special", she was an ordinary human and THAT'S what made her special. Any companion could do what she did, but that wasn't the point. She did all she could and with what she knew, from the bottom of her heart. THAT'S why 9 and 10 loved her so much! Rose was important to the series and the viewers because as we were experiencing "travelling with The Doctor" for the first time, so was she! Every single reaction she had, every single move she made was something I would do. She was a self insert, but in a good way! Normally when I watch shows the characters are SO FEKING OBLIVIOUS and don't make the best fitting decisions (leaving me yelling at the tv screen) but ROSE did exactly what I wanted her to do. Sure, she screwed up but that's the point! Looking back, we know what Doc wants to do and we KNOW him, but when we started we were as naive as Rose! (Replying to myself to continue)

Watching new companions react to The Doctor is amusing now, and sometimes annoying saying we don't need an explanation of who he is, whereas Rose learned WITH US, so SURE. Her nagging is a tad ignorant but we were doing the same thing then too, so it's somewhat excuse in my opinion. I grew so attached to Rose that when she left I stopped watching Doctor Who. This was my first time losing a companion, and she's also my FAVOURITE companion: which rubs it in more. The next morning my mum made me scones and tea, and when she brought it over she apologized that we ran out of normal napkins, so I had a fancy one that day. The napkin had one, giant rose on it with 'Rose' written below it. I broke down, it's like someone gave me a sign. I loved the other companions with all my heart too (minus River- I love her but she was too forced on us... Or at least too forced on me so I have some beef with her) but Rose gets both my Whovian TimeLord hearts ❤️🌹

People constantly talk about their first doctor, how he is their favorite or the coolest or the most fantastic, often overlooking who their first companion was. For me and many others it was Rose Tyler in the shop, struggling to live a fulfilling life. This beautiful theme reminds me not only of the first time I saw the Universe with the ninth, but also of the beautiful companion that was by his side no matter what. Rose Tyler, you will be remembered and cherished for being the one many of us experienced the Doctor with for the first time. You are fantastic ;)

I know people associate this so much with losing Rose. But, I just began a rewatch and when this plays for the first time I felt hopeful. The Doctor had lost so much and now had hope. Such a powerful piece of music to be able to convey hope in the beginning and sadness at the end.

Just did my first run through of DW in two years. Just watched the episode where David regenerated. The first face his face saw was Rose and it was also the last. He went and saw her one last time before he died. He died alone and missing her. The version of the doctor that loved Rose died. That’s why she is never really mentioned after David. Because like he said in his last episode, regenerating is like dying. Everything he is, dies. “And a new man goes sauntering about”. All those other doctors don’t love Rose the way David’s did because that love died with him. And if you think about it, he never really got closure. It was the meta-crisis doctor that got to stay with Rose, not the actual Doctor. So all that time he was still loving her and not being able to do anything about it. In the Waters of Mars episode he even started going as far as saying that sense he was the last of the Time Lords that screw the rules of time, they should obey him now because there is no one else to stop him. You don’t think it crossed his mind to break time and save Rose so he could be with her again? Rose for me was this beautiful ordinary woman. And that’s the key. She was just an ordinary person. Which means she could have been anyone and anyone watching could have been her. That’s what makes her character so appealing, because she’s relatable. A woman who loved the doctor for the joy and adventure he brought her, and was taken away from him to an impossible, unreachable distance; only to somehow despite all the chances against her, met him again and was finally able to spend the rest of her life with him. I think the Doctor loved Rose because she taught him how to love. Like what he said on Bad Wolf Bay the second time with Rose, the meta-crisis doctor was like himself when Rose first met him. Full of rage and anger and bloodlust. Stern and silent. All of the doctors up until David’s were like that until Rose taught him otherwise. And you can still see it in affect. Capaldi’s Doctor was this old man that mirrored the Doctors of old in a way, especially in the way he dressed. But underneath that old grumpy face was a sweet old man that cared about Clara because Rose taught him how to care about people. The same goes with Matt. I don’t think his relationship with Amy and Rory and especially River Song would have been the way it was without Rose before them. Rose is and will always be my favorite companion. Rose and the Doctor. This theme is the most happy, sad, somber, beautiful, majestic, sorrowingly, fleeting, hopeful piece of writing I have ever heard for a character. I will always love Rose and her theme. I think one of the reasons I love Rose’s character so much is because partially, I hope that someday, someone, would love me the way she loved the Doctor. Rose left a hole in all our hearts that not even time can heal as said by someone else in this comment section. Thank you Russell T. Davies

me and m mum are watching random reruns of Doctor who the first one that played was doomsday part 2 and i let the tears fall when 10 lost rose and said goodbye using a super-nova. the next ep that played was series 2, ep 4.... the pain rose the doctor was virtually erased, like time had been turned back and they were on adventures again...

Rose is such a beautiful character and this music just fits her perfectly. I can feel her pain when I listen to this. I feel her love for the Doctor and definitely the whole dialogue in Doomsday perfectly. Doctor Who has shown me the way we look from another's point of view, how being alone really affects someone, and the pain of saying goodbye forever. I reckon he loved Susan more. Because of the familial connection, but also for the fact he was able to put her needs above her wants. She wanted to stay with him forever, but the Doctor realised what she needed was to stay with David in the 22nd century. Not to say he didn't love Rose, but I reckon there's more of a maturity with his grandfatherly love for Susan.

All of The Doctors companions are great, i cant pick a favorite, but Rose definitely had an effect on him more than any other companion. They weren't as serious as some other pairs of The Doctor and his companions, i think he really enjoyed being around her. And the same with her. They loved each other and had fun too! All the other companions are more serious than her, and Rose had a relationship with The Doctor that no other companion has.

I'm so glad Ten & Rose is coming back! Rose is my special companion and she always will be. She has her bad side; she can be annoying and immature, I'll admit that. But she is still incredibly brave and funny, she's got spunk and spirit and terribly stubborn. Plus she and the Doctor are adorable, be it 9 or 10. Doctor who is connected to and runs along side my childhood and this theme always brings back memories of those wonderful times and of the feeling of naivety as a child. Also, how beautiful is her relationship with the Doctor? She was exactly what he needed to heal, and he was exactly what she needed to reach her full potential and escape her dead end life. Neither of them were knights in shining armor and yet, despite their myriad individual flaws, they still managed to give each other all the love, strength, and support that the other needed to save themselves, and to make each other happy and healthy and whole again. I first started watching Doctor Who this summer, and now I'm almost caught up to the current season. However sad each companion's death is, it so far has never left the impact on me that Rose's "death" did. Because she was the first companion on New Who, and I was still so innocent and new to the show myself. I'll miss that. Just like Rose and Ten. ;_;

i miss rose so much she wasn't special, (except for bad wolf but that wasn't even her) she was just a simple girl that worked in a shop. she wasn't powerful or mysterious or genius, unlike the rest of the doctors companions she didn't need a special story. But she had a heart, she gave up so much and accomplished so much. she made everyones life better, she was happy and pure and just so amazing. People think she's the doctors clingy girlfriend, why...when has she ever been clingy, SHES IN LOVE WITH HIM AND VICE VERSA it doesn't mean she's clingy. in the first few episodes she barely knew him, but risked her life anyway, she didn't say "take me to see the stars" or "show me the universe" like everyone else, she didn't go with him for herself. she did it for him she simply said "i'll stay with you forever" even if he lived a dull boring life she would stay with him. the doctor said it him self, she made him better. She didn't need to be special or save the world time and time again (even though she did loads of times) she was a brave and caring and selfless and thats a kind of companion the doctor needs

This song reminds me of when I first watched Doctor Who. I had already seen "The End of Time Pt. 2" on New Year's Eve, and even though I didn't understand what was going on, I knew I would love Doctor Who. One night I stayed up really late, and my family was going to Virginia really early, so I knew it wouldn't be worth it to go to sleep. I suddenly remembered that I wanted to watch Doctor Who. I saw four episodes of the 2005 series, and fell in love. This song reminds me of that night.

I've noticed within the last few season of DW that the music hasn't been as distinct or memorable as it use to be. For me the music was always an important part of DW starting with the Russel T. Davies era with Rose, Martha, Donna, and The Doctor's themes. The music was a key part of the storytelling with different arrangements of the The Doctor's theme popping up during more somber or emotionally powerful moments. This can also been seen with the different arrangements of Roses, Martha's(especially Martha's), and Donna as well. Moffat's era had a key number of tracks that showed up in multiple episodes as well, in particular the use to Amy's theme for 11 as well as Clara's. The way these songs came up over and over again in multiple episodes cemented their emotional importance to the overarching story being told as well as the arcs for each character.

Unfortunately the music in the last couple seasons has felt utterly unmemorable in every way. Neither Graham, Ryan or Yaz have any themes that I can recall from memory or stand out for their character growth or importance to the overarching narrative (not that there has been much of either). I feel like this is a very important element that they Chris Chibnall has been lacking.

i loved it when they played this song on the second episode of the first new series, the 'end of the world' one. when she was standing facing the destroyed earth (chunks of rock). it just looked so beautiful and the song really suited the moment :D

I was introduced to the Doctor who series by my mom, and I was raised with Christopher ekelson, David tennant, and Matt smith. They were the Doctor who of my early childhood, and I really love listening to Rose's theme along with Donna, amy, and martha. They were some of my favorite companions, because most of the time the afternoon or didn't take s*** from no one. This is one of my favorite songs from the franchise

Miss Rose so much! All the Doctor's companions are smart and good and resourceful and worthy of him, but she gave him so much more than the others, he needs her more than he needs the others. I wish she was still with him!

I adore Rose Tyler. She's such a study in contradictions. Both selfish and selfless; strong and compassionate; adventurous and judicious; uneducated and intelligent; adaptable and stubborn as hell. She manages to be the Doctor's equal without being a Mary-Sue, and that's not an easy thing for a writer to achieve.

In that episode I felt like I was with rose, I was crying with her, I felt like the doctor was leaving from me. If I was in roses spot in that episode and the doctor disapeared I would of feel on the ground crying and punching, I would curl up in a ball and try to breath but it would be impossible for me to breath! I feel ur pain ROSE!!!!! :( T-T

A lot of people see it as more then just a show. It's the reason it's endured so long, just like Star Wars and Star Trek. It's not about throwing special effects or ideals in your face, it has characters that we root for going through situations that put them in danger. We see them evolve through time like watching a friend grow up with you, and you always remember those journeys. Perhaps that's the greatest strength about fiction, and Doctor Who presents it perfectly.

Everyone talks about how sad this music is, and while it was sad from 2006-2008, it stopped being sad for me after season 4. Because Rose came back, and she got her happy ending
The Doomsday theme, that's still sad. But this music, it's full of hope.

Love Rose she was the best companion yet. When she left I was so upset I was just a kid back when she was in it though. People told me she will never re appear in Dr who well their wrong, she appeared and she just recently appeared she will return again, and so will Bad wolf. They will all come back hopefully one day she is a free and travels with the Doctor again. Also David and Billie was so cute together it was so much a love story!!

Jonathan Pook IKR! She was so the best! She made me fall in love with Doctor Who, and I can never get enough of her. When she left I literally cried, something that never happens. On the bright side she is doing what she always wanted, living with the Doctor! May they all live happily ever after in a parallel universe ;_;
