1) A Popular French rock group Dolly got together in Nantes, a town in the west of France, in 1991. Their formation came about thanks to drummer Thierry Lacroix and singer Emmanuelle Monet - aka Manu - who shared a mutual passion for English and American music. The Anglophile duo teamed up with two musician friends - bass-player Mick Chamberlin and guitarist Nicolas Bonniere (who was just 15 at the time!) - and went on to make a name for themselves on the local music scene as Dolly & co.
Dolly and C°'s early influences might have been lifted from the best chapters of an English/American rock compendium - indeed, the group's sound was heavily influenced by the likes of Blondie, Prince, the Pixies and the Smashing Pumpkins. But lead singer Manu's greatest source of inspiration was the work of English indie diva PJ Harvey. The young French singer was fascinated by Harvey's deep, melancholy vocals and, after seeing PJ in concert, Manu decided to accompany her own singing on guitar. Performing extensively on the local music scene, Dolly and C° soon began to build up an extensive repertoire (most of which was written by Manu). And before long the group attracted a massive following of fans.
Encouraged by this early success on the local music scene, Dolly and C° went into the studio to begin work on their debut album. After producing a mini album (featuring six tracks), Dolly and C° went on to produce their first full-length album themselves. (The album, entitled simply "Dolly and C°, actually scored a considerable hit on the national music scene, selling over 85,000 copies).
Shortly after the release of their début album, the group underwent several major changes in their line-up, re-inventing themselves as Dolly. The new-look Dolly went on to sign a recording deal with the East West label and then returned to the studio to set to work on a new CD album.
2) Dolly (alternative tag: Dolly) is a Japanese indie visual kei rock band formed in 2005 and currently signed to FUJI PRODUCTION.
Boasting a melodious guitar sound and a stylish musical sensibility that's dark and rich with attitude, band Dolly lures audiences into their elaborate fairy-tale world with their fusion of catchy radiance and a darkly distorted perspective.

Meilleur ennemi
Il sait m'abandonner
Me ramener près de lui
Je n'veux pas rester sage
J'aime le souffre et l'envie
Abuser de mon âge
Le mal est ma lueur
Son ombre est ma couleur
Le mal est ma lueur
Mon parfum son odeur
Prend ton mal en douceur
Le mal est entré
Et je sais qu'il détruit
Qu'il pourrait me faire crever
Que reste t-il ici ?
Je n'veux pas rester sage
J'aime le souffre et l'envie
Abuser de mon âge
Je n'veux pas rester sage
Le mal est ma lueur
Le mal est entré
Meilleur ennemi
Il sait m'abandonner
Je brûlerais avec lui
Dolly's song "Je n'veux pas rester sage" talks about the singer’s relationship with the idea of evil. The first verse talks about how the concept of evil has entered the singer's life and has become their best enemy. The evil is personified as having the ability to abandon the singer but also bring them closer to it. This creates a volatile relationship that the singer cannot turn away from. The chorus then states that the singer does not want to stay "wise," and instead embraces the idea of pain and desire, abusing them because of her age.
The second verse states that the singer's life is full of negativity and that darkness is her light. The singer accepts that the darkness is a part of who she is and that she is drawn towards it. She also mentions that her "perfume is its odor," indicating that this makes her who she is, and she cannot escape it. The next line of the song then advises the listener to take their pain with care. The final line of the song tells us that the evil has entered the singer's life and knows how to destroy her, but she will burn with it anyway.
Overall, the song expresses the idea of not wanting to conform to societal norms and instead embracing one's true self, even if it means letting darkness and evil consume them. The song acknowledges that this path may lead to destruction, but it is a risk the singer is willing to take.
