Originally signed to No-U-Turn, he moved to the scene leader Moving Shadow in 1995. He has released four critically acclaimed albums to date, over 100 singles, high profile electronic remixes as well as many collaborations with some of the scene’s most talented artists.
As one of the pioneers of the tech-step genre he is well known for his cinematic otherworldly soundscapes, and it has often been suggested that he move into doing film soundtracks as his sound often conveys a strong visual element. Teamed with his sought after talent for producing dancefloor pounding rhythms, he has managed to stay at the pinnacle of the scene to this day.
In 2005 Dom started his own label Dom & Roland Productions releasing the creme de la creme of Drum and Bass collaborations, as well as being an outlet for his own work. An accomplished sound engineer, Dom is well known to have co-produced and mixed some of the classics of the drum and bass scene, including Subway with Ed Rush, Sonar with DJ Trace, appearing as guest producer alongside Optical on Grooveriders seminal Prototype Years album, as well as having enjoyed enormous success with many of his own tracks including the mighty Thunder, Imagination and Can’t Punish Me. The late John Peel a longtime fan, also approached Dom to commission a piece of work although sadly this dream was never realised.
Over the years Dom & Roland releases have been commissioned for several Playstation games and licensed to television in various countries including the BBC and Channel 4 in England. More recently Dom has continued his passion for pushing the boundaries of music technology, contributing from a producer’s standpoint, by being an advisor to various music software companies, including Native Instruments and Focusrite, taking studio tools to the next generation.
In his latest album No Strings Attached, in addition to his latest solo work, Dom has teamed up with the current crop of big name producers to release a 12 track album, featuring collaborations with Amon Tobin of Ninja records, the trendy Dutch super producers Noisia, Violence label owner Hive, Audio, and last but by no means least Rob Playford, Dom’s old label boss, now close friend, also known as the co-producer and engineer of Goldie’s legendary timeless album. Doms latest album is one of his finest works to date and is due for release in November on all formats including a five part vinyl edition.
* Roland is not a person. Roland is the digital sampler made by Roland that Dom used to compose with!

You loved me so simple
You loved me so sweet
And sentimental
You're the blueprint of man
Who built castles in sand
With so loving and delicate hands
Yes, you made me the man that I amBut if I could,
I'd give up all my life
To stay by your side
Through my mornings and nights
Cause I
Baby
I'd give up all my life
So we can have more time
And I promise
To start a new ripple
Of kindness in all of my deeds,
I am your disciple
You're the ethos of love, baby
Cause you never - gave me up
When everyone else turned their back on me
You gave me my peace and my harmony
So if I could,
I'd give up all my life
To stay by your side
Through my triumphs and trials
Cause I
I'd give up all my life
So we can have more time
Wish I held you
Tighter the last time
Cause you've always been
As I lay here,
I am praying for patience
'Til one day, it's my time to go
You'll make sure I won't walk alone
The song "Time" by Dom & Roland speaks about the tender and sentimental love shared between two people. The lyrics begin with the singer acknowledging the simple and sweet love that he received from his partner. He praises his lover for being the blueprint of a man who built castles in sand with delicate hands. The partner has helped him become the person he is today. The lyrics point out that if the singer gets a chance, he would give up everything to stay with his partner and make more time for them.
The singer continues to praise his partner for being the ethos of love and care that he has always received, even when the entire world turned its back on him. The partner has been the only source of peace and harmony for the singer, and he feels blessed to have them in his life. The singer concludes the song by expressing his desire to hold his partner more tightly and never let them go. He prays for patience until his time comes to leave this world and hopes that his partner will be with him till his last breath.

This is the most chill sounding drum & bass song I've ever heard. From the slow-feeling drums to the overall feel of it, it feels like something you would hear in a lo-fi playlist.
