Her father notices her daughter's behavior and tries to understand her but, it seems to be impossible for him to fathom the reason behind her daughter's ways, he contemplates bringing in a doctor to evaluate her.
However, as the song continues, the singer states that the father cannot help his daughter, as he is too blind to see that she has grown up and is craving independence. He advises the father to set her free to live her life, as there is no remedy for his daughter's yearning for freedom. The song comes to the conclusion that the young girl's desire to go out with the boys is merely a manifestation of her desire to gain more independence in her life.
