I'm Ready
Domino Fats Lyrics

I'm ready, I'm willing and I'm able to rock and roll all night
Come on pretty baby
We're gonna rock, we're gonna roll until the broad daylight
Because I'm ready, mmm
And I'm able, mmm
I'm willing and I'm able
We're gonna rock and roll til tomorrow 'bout three
Talking on the phone is not my speed
Don't send me no letter, cause I can't read
Don't be long, cause I'll be gone
We'll go rock and rolling all night long
Cause I'm ready, I'm willing, and I'm able to rock and roll all night
I'm ready, I'm willing and I'm able to rock and roll all night
Come on pretty baby
We're gonna rock, we're gonna roll until tomorrow night
The lyrics of "I'm Ready" by Fats Domino is an up-tempo, energetic song about the singer's readiness to rock and roll all night long. Through his lyrics, Domino expresses his eagerness to enjoy the night in the company of someone special, inviting them to come along with him to dance and have a good time until the break of dawn. The repetition of the refrain, "I'm ready, I'm willing, and I'm able to rock and roll all night" highlights the singer's enthusiasm and willingness to party.
The song's chorus is an invitation to whoever's listening to come and join Domino in his excitement. He's not interested in wasting time writing or receiving letters or being on the phone but instead, physical presence on the dance floor is what will do the trick. The lyrics also convey a sense of urgency as Domino warns his lady that she had better not waste any time if she wants to join him because he's going to be gone. Thus, this song portrays the jittery energy of post-World War II eyes-wide-open adolescence desperate to throw off the shackles of conformity and standard-issue adult world values and taste.
In conclusion, "I'm Ready" is a fun song that celebrates the youthful love of life and the freedom to let loose and dance until dawn. It's a call to action that exudes energy, excitement, and the yearning for adventure.

Im afraid that was a sign of the times, people like fats and chuck berry were looked over because they needed a white pin up boy and elvis had to take that mantel, not that im knocking elvis but in my opinion they were the kings of rock n roll.

I think he got the credit from everyone who matters: fans and musicians. I'm a musician and know a lot of people in the biz and never heard a bad word about him. We all loved him.
