Dominos Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Scrolling thru this city with these big homes
With the big gnomes
Fountains in the yard
Think it's rhinestone
I roam
With these trees like it's pine cones
Got these
Mind goals mind soul body and home
I be thinking as I walking
Cuz lately I see This often
A couple in their garden
But they're not even talking
Sitting in the silence of their truth in plenty
A home filled with rich but they're both feeling empty

In a place where the homes are all locked in
Everybody wants one but It fees like a coffin
Now I'm feeling nauseous
They wanna get away so they turn to the office
Now Bobbys really sloppy and he felt a wee bit crazy
He tried to brush It off but It comes back on the daily
So he saw the secretary the way he sees his porn now
Now they have a baby cuz they tried to make a porn now

Places looking good but It don't feel like It
From the outside in
False advertisement

They got Marble porches
Ferrari's and some Porsches
House enormous
They got forests for their horses
And the floors are gorgeous
Tip toe fortress forces forfeit
Makes this orbit morbid
Feels like orchids cuz they're
Boarded in a box where the walls tend to haunt
Where the faults go to locks so the carpets all hot
Like the roof is on fire
Guess they're already caught
Cuz they're living off secrets
In community lots
I was chillin in the culdesac
Like I did real often
I started seeing mansions for the richest coffins
This picture perfect portrait is the cheapest option
I'm walking around the neighborhood and feeling nauseous cuz

Places looking good but It don't feel like It

From the outside in
False advertisement

Overall Meaning

In the first verse of the song Advertisment, Domino talks about his observations as he walks around a wealthy neighborhood. He describes how everything looks perfect with big homes, fancy decorations, and well-manicured lawns, but when he takes a closer look, people seem empty, unhappy, and disconnected. In the second verse, he talks about the pressure people feel to own a big house and how they turn to work for an escape. He talks about how people are caught up in their superficial lives, and they end up living secret lives full of lies. The chorus talks about how people often present a false image of themselves and how the reality can be different.
