The Path
Dominus Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

"You take a white right hand and a black left hand and what do you got? Son, you got rock 'n' roll!"

I feel I need this path to get away
From the same old bullshit
We live in everyday
Just screaming, screaming where's
The path that leads to rock 'n' roll
Along with me I brought the demon seed
I let it click, click, click
And out came what I need
Screaming, screaming where's
The path that leads to rock 'n' roll

In this wood this house was going wild
All the devils and witches
Oh yeah, they were invited
Screaming, screaming here I come
I love the rock 'n' roll

Along with me I brought the demon seed
I Let it click, click, click
And out comes what I need
Screaming, screaming here I come
I love the rock 'n' roll

In the house the vol beat rolled
I can't believe I saw a priest who
Was stomping out of tune
The devil and the witches danced
With the burning, burning booze, booze, booze
In their hands

The priest was looking at this wild dancing girl
(he said) how do you learn to move this thing, you will burn
(she said) I felt it in the music and I feel, oh so good
The priest was so horny, that he ripped off her clothes

I feel I need this path to get away
Get away from the same old bullshit
We live in every day

Screaming, screaming I was there, I love
The rock 'n' roll

Overall Meaning

These lyrics from Dominus's song "The Path" are a powerful and rebellious ode to rock 'n' roll. The opening lines, "You take a white right hand and a black left hand and what do you got? Son, you got rock 'n' roll!" suggest that rock music is a combination of light and dark, good and evil, and that it is this inherent duality that makes it so powerful and appealing. The rest of the song describes a search for the path that leads to rock 'n' roll, away from the mundane and oppressive world.

The song sees the singer seeking escape from the "same old bullshit" of everyday life, and finding it in the demon seed of rock music. The lyrics paint a vivid picture of wild, debauched and free-spirited gatherings that are fueled by music, booze, and the company of devils and witches. The scene is described with vivid imagery, from the vol beat that rolls in the house to the burning booze in the hands of the devil and witches. In this world, the singer and others find freedom, release, and joy in the music of rock 'n' roll.

Overall, the lyrics to "The Path" are a celebration of the power of music and its ability to inspire, unite, and liberate people from the constraints of everyday life. It suggests that rock 'n' roll is not just a style of music, but a way of life that offers an escape from the mundane, and a path to freedom and self-expression.

My first Dominus song to listen to. Love the guitars and bass especially where they slow it down around the 4:07 mark. Perfect description in these comments by Johnathan Jansson - the sound is heavy groove metal. Like that, fits it perfectly. I don't usually like a groups or songs that have all growler or screamer for the vocals, but this I can actually understand. The drummer's sound and tempo is a little off to me but I personally like the sound of the song all together. \m/

I'm not a death metal fan at all but this isn't to bad, can actually hear a touch of volbeat in some of the guitar riff, but definitely love volbeat more.
