Ross' music borrows from rock, jazz, folk and classical music creating a style that he describes as "heavy wood". Ross is the first and only person to twice win the U.S. National Fingerstyle Guitar Championship (1988 and 1996). His album Huron Street reached the top ten on the Billboard new age chart. In the liner notes to Ross' 2003 album Robot Monster, Bruce Cockburn writes, "Nobody does what Don Ross does with an acoustic guitar. He takes the corners so fast you think he's going to roll, but he never loses control."

@TheRealAndyMcKee
You hit it on the head, brother. Don and I actually laugh at these comments that are like "Oh Andy smoked Don on that tune" or "Don crushed Andy into tiny dust particles on that tune". There isn't a shred of "one-upsmanship" or competition when we play together. Of course a lot of guitar players can't be in a room the size of a gymnasium together wihtout having their egos clash, but Don and I are in this for the music. For the record, I wouldn't be writing the music I do without Don. Andy

Just amazing. The sun just rise in the middle of the night. If you are feeling low, this song pushes all worries away for a moment
@rabbitsrock07
The imagery this piece gives me is fantastic. I wrote an entire one and a half pages because of it. The title fits so perfectly that it's hard to imagine it named as anything else. I can practically see the dolphins jumping out of the water, and then slowly down and floating about lazily in the water. I can't stop listening. It's purely lovely. :]
@MrConeman
I love how they both flow so well from playing rhythm and lead off of each other. Great.
@lenlaine5b
I think its cool how they both alternate between rhythm and lead melody, since they are similar in style. Don Ross is a little bit more of a funk person, and Andy Mckee, is well, Andy Mckee. But its nice to know that they can both lead and support each other so well. It really combines both of their styles. Just purely awesome to listen to.
@SolicioA
that synchro within them is ... its impossible to say it in words. they play really great together
@PsiBrr
Hi guys... You've performed another fine piece together. I'm glad you guys hooked up to perform together. The distinct mastery you both bring to the guitar is evident in this piece, and I REALLY appreciate neither of you lost your identity in the song. Thanks... Bob Hunter

I remember downloading this album on iTunes while I was a freshman in college. I listened to this album on repeat! So glad these classic videos are still up on youtube after all these years.
