Ross' music borrows from rock, jazz, folk and classical music creating a style that he describes as "heavy wood". Ross is the first and only person to twice win the U.S. National Fingerstyle Guitar Championship (1988 and 1996). His album Huron Street reached the top ten on the Billboard new age chart. In the liner notes to Ross' 2003 album Robot Monster, Bruce Cockburn writes, "Nobody does what Don Ross does with an acoustic guitar. He takes the corners so fast you think he's going to roll, but he never loses control."

@Yarsig
I can just picture Don trying to think of the name of this song.
"Damn, now that I created it, what shall I call it"
Several weeks later
"Fine, I'll just sit here and the first thing that pops in my head will be the name"
Don begins to shake
he begins to sweat profusely
his eyes begin to go bloodshot
The floor beneath him begins to quake
The skies begin to weep
The floor rips open into Hell
The clouds split, the gates of Heaven shining bright
Jesus and Satan on-look as they fear everything that is, will be destroyed
As Don starts to slowly raise his head, everything goes still before he shouts. "KLIMBIM!!!" creating a huge shock wave that rattles the world.
@DonRossMusic
Thanks for all the positivity, folks! :-)

You're a fantastic player. So much skill. I'm interested in the type of fingerstyle stuff you do with the harmonics. Any advice for me? I've been playing for about ten years, and would really love to be able to play like you someday. Maybe you've got a good starting point you could share with me.

Extremely impressed with the playing, and even moreso that you took the time to respond to your fans. I have a lot of respect for you and your work - thanks for sharing it with us!

A decade or so ago, I was fortunate to attend a fantastic Don Ross concert in a small venue in Ottawa, A short while later, I was having my car serviced at the local Honda dealer when I noticed another customer wearing a Don Ross tee shirt. Excuse me ma'am, I said, I take it you are a fan of Don Ross. I should hope so, she replied, he is my son! I proceed to "sing" his praises despite the fact that I was preaching to the converted. He is truly a master whose sheer joy of playing is matched only by the brilliance of his sound.
