I've held it all inward
Lord knows I've tried
It's an awful awakenin'
In a country boy's life
When you look in the mirror
In total surprise
At the hair on your shoulders
And the age in your eyes.

Amanda light of my life
Fate should have made you a gentle man's wife
Amanda light of my life
Fate should have made you a gentle man's wife.

Well the measure of people
Don't understand
The pleasures of life
In a hillbilly band
I got my first guitar
When I was fourteen
Now I'm crowding thirty
And still wearin' jeans.

Amanda light of my life
Fate should have made you a gentle man's wife
Amanda light of my life
Fate should have made you a gentle man's wife.

Folks, this was a live performance, NO AUTOTUNE, no dozens background singers and dancers doing gymnastic routine while a lip sync track plays...real talent. No genital grabbing, tit baring or other nonsense to hide a lack of talent! RIP Don

A complete and total 100% agree!!!! Thank God for artists like Mr. Williams. Voice as smooth as a baby's butt. Just pure talent.

One of my most wonderful memories was when I was 15 and watching my Dad dancing with my Mom at a D.A.V. Hall in Slidell La..The way they were looking at one another with so much LOVE ..made me tear up a little bit ..I was a little embarrassed when my best friend noticed and made a silly comment.. My Dad passedaway afew years ago and now my beutiful Mother struggles with Alzhemers ....I would give everything I own if I could go back in time to that night..the great thing is that everytime I hear this song I kind of do ...Peace and Lets Love One Another A Little Bit More ..David Lee
