Hair
Donnie Dacus Lyrics

She asks me why
I'm just a hairy guy
I'm hairy noon and night
Hair, that's a fright
I'm hairy high and low
Don't ask me why
Don't know
It's not for lack of bread
Like the Grateful Dead
Darling

Gimme a head with hair
Long beautiful hair
Shining, gleaming
Streaming, flaxen, waxen

Give me down to there hair
Shoulder length or longer
Here baby, there mama
Everywhere daddy daddy

Hair, hair, hair, hair, hair, hair, hair
Flow it, show it
Long as God can grow it
My hair

Let it fly in the breeze
And get caught in the trees
Give a home to the fleas in my hair
A home for the fleas
A hive for the buzzin' bees
A nest for birds
There ain't no words
For the beauty, the splendor, the wonder
Of my

Hair, hair, hair, hair, hair, hair, hair
Flow it, show it
Long as God can grow it
My hair

I want it long, straight, curly, fuzzy
Snaggy, shaggy, ratty, matty
Oily, greasy, fleecy
Shining, gleaming, streaming
Flaxen, waxen
Knotted, polka-dotted
Twisted, beaded, braided
Powdered, flowered, and confettied
Bangled, tangled, spangled, and spaghettied

Oh say can you see my eyes?
If you can
Then my hair's too short

Down to here
Down to there
Down to where
Down to where
It stops by itself

They'll be ga ga at the go go
When they see me in my toga
My toga made of blond
Brilliantined
Biblical hair

My hair like Jesus wore it
Hallelujah, I adore it
Hallelujah, Mary loved her son
Why don't my mother love me?

Hair, hair, hair, hair, hair, hair, hair
Flow it, show it
Long as God can grow it
My hair, hair, hair, hair, hair, hair, hair
Flow it, show it
Long as God can grow it
My hair, hair, hair, hair, hair, hair, hair
Flow it, show it
Long as God can grow it
My hair

Nice snippet. Lamm before he got clean and went from being Bobby to Robert. Peter Cetera had become the band's spokesman to a degree, but he was always a bit on the shy side and seemed uncomfortable during interviews. I recall that Cetera previously had worn that big ring on his left hand.

A mí hermoso Peter Cetera, evidentemente no le gustaban la entrevistas y menos con cuestionamientos tontos, pero aún así respondía de la mejor manera posible, es tan lindo, tierno y bello 😍♥️👌🏻

Robert G.

Peter Cetera's iconic "Chicago look" and Robert Lamm's iconic "cocaine look".

Lamarr Avery

Robert was the past and Peter was the future of Chicago

Robert G. I know, right? Wtf, he couldn’t stand still lol

J Fingers Music

You could tell there was a little animosity with Lamm towards Peter with Peter’s success with If You Leave Me Now.

CONSIDERING THAT THE 3 CHICAGO BAND MEMBERS HAD BEEN ON AN AIRPLANE FOR 12 HOURS I WOULD SAY THAT THEY LOOKED PRETTY GOOD. ACTUALLY I THINK THAT DANNY THE DRUMMER WHO WROTE "STREET PLAYER" SHOULD HAVE BEEN WITH PETER AND BOBBY FOR THE INTERVIEW. DONNIE WAS A ROOKIE AND AN ORIGINAL CHICAGO BAND MEMBER SHOULD HAVE DONE THE INTERVIEW.

Joe Iaquinto

They wanted the singers, apparently. But I agree with you.
