Biography:
Donnie McClurkin is a gospel vocalist with the soul of Andraรฉ Crouch and the contemporary flair of Kirk Franklin. Born into a home filled with domestic violence and drug abuse, McClurkin was saved by an aunt who sang background vocals with Crouch himself. After staying close to Crouch throughout his boyhood, he began to play piano and sing with his church youth choir. He formed the McClurkin Singers by the time he was a teenager, and later formed another group, the New York Restoration Choir.
Hired as an associate minister at Marvin Winans' Perfecting Church in 1989, with his vocals during a seminar, McClurkin endured a bout with leukemia that year. A friendship with a Warner Alliance executive resulted in his signing to the label for his 1996 self-titled LP, with producers Mark Kibble (of Take 6), Cedric and Victor Maxwell plus Andraรฉ Crouch. ~ John Bush, All Music Guide

Donnie McClurkin is a Gospel superstar whose voice is recognized around the world. His voice has already transcended the Sunday morning pulpit to the top of record charts where his music has remained steadfast while reaching gold and platinum status.
While on an airplane, God gave him the words for the song โStand,โ and, he says, in 20 minutes the words flowed inside his head. โHow do you deal with the shame of your pastโฆyou stand,โ he continues repeating the words.
McClurkin has been able to overcome and excel to the point that fans, celebrities and a cross section of music lovers recognize his talent as โspecial.โ
In 1983, while working with the choir, McClurkin met the Reverend Marvin L. Winans. Impressed by McClurkinโs performance a gospel workshop seminar, Winans invited McClurkin to Detroit to help start a ministry. Six years later, in 1989, McClurkin moved to Detroit, became an associate minister at Perfecting Church and began touring and singing at different churches across the country.
At age 31, Donnie was diagnosed with leukemia. But at 36, with church, music and an unyielding faith, Reverend McClurkin hit gold with his debut album and changed his life.
McClurkin is head pastor at Perfecting Faith Church, a nondenominational Pentecostal church in Freeport, New York with a 1,000-plus congregation. He is home for the services every Sunday unless traveling overseas.
This Grammy award winning artist may sing for presidents, but heโs known for โbeing real.โ And whether in his local church pulpit or on a stage before thousands, he preaches a forthright, often-provocative message about his troubled past, and his faith in God. Music, he says, is his sermon.

Hallelujah, hallelujah, for the Lord God almighty reigns
Hallelujah
Holy, holy
Are you Lord God almighty
Worthy is the Lamb
You are holy, holy
Are You Lord God almighty
Worthy is the Lamb
Worthy is the Lamb
Amen
The lyrics of this song by Donnie McClurkin express praise and adoration to God. The repetition of the phrase "Hallelujah, hallelujah" emphasizes the worshipful tone of the song. The first line declares that God reigns as the Almighty, and this is repeated in the second line to reinforce the idea. The third "Hallelujah" serves as a conclusion to this statement.
The next section of the song proclaims the holiness of God, using a repetition of the word "holy." This repetition gives weight and importance to this attribute of God--his holiness is emphasized as something essential to his nature. The repeated phrase "Lord God almighty" is also used here to connect this truth with the earlier declaration of his reign. The final lines of the song again express God's worthiness--this time, as the "Lamb." This is a reference to Jesus, who is often called the "Lamb of God" in scripture. The phrase "Amen" gives a seal of agreement to everything that has been sung.
Overall, this song is a beautiful expression of worship and adoration to God. Its repetitive structure and use of scripture references give it a strong foundation in faith, and its simple yet powerful lyrics make it easy for listeners to join in the praise.

@@faithbezwo1145 Hello, yes of course. So here are a few example of wrong teachings from Joshua Selman:
-He claims Adam was not the first man created by God, and that Lucifer was mandated over man to be the revelation of God to him.
God himself (likely in the form of the Son) walked in the garden and talked to Adam in person; in fact, it is the sin that Satan instigated man to commit that created the separation with God. (The symbol of the veil in the Temple; the same veil that was torn apart at Jesus death; demonstrating that he removed the separation for those that would receive him, and allow us to fellowship with God once again.) Also, it is Adam that God put in charge of all things; and even we; men created in the image of God will judge angels. Satan usurped the authority he assumed because he wanted to be like God, but it is by no mean God that gave him that charge.
-He said the Bible is not the word of God. 2 Timothy 3:16-17 begs to differ.
-There are hints of prosperity gospel in what he preach.
-------
as for Arome Osayi he said: "If you are a youth up to 21 years old and you have never spoke in tongues straight for 6hours your life is a joke."
That is a very bad statement; Paul clearly says that not all receive the same gifts; and saying to the eye "your life is a joke" because he can't hear, is as stupid as saying to the ear "your life is a joke" because she can not see.
I haven't spent much time researching him, but I can say that someone who is claiming the position of teacher and goes against the word of God can't be trusted. It is also quite dangerous for young believers that will feel like they are lacking spiritually and feel discouraged by his statement.
-------
The truth is there are TWO thing a believer should do before all else; and from these two; all will follow:
1: Read your Bible ENTIRELY (not just bits and pieces here and there); everyday; and when you are done; start again; (3 chapters a day, keep the devil away...and also with 3 chapters a day you will be done reading it almost once a year)
2: Pray.
And when you do not understand something in the Bible, before seeking a teacher for yourself, pray about it; God is faithful to give wisdom and understanding to those that seek him.
As a general rule, be weary of so called "men of God" that title themselves "Apostle", "Bishop", "Prophet" and dress like millionaires.
BONUS TIP: As for what Bible to read; there are many translations that are okay, but the best is the NKJV; it is the one with the least translation inaccuracies I could find; it remains faithful to the original hebrew and greek, all the while being understandable by properly translating idioms and other things that should not be translated literally. It takes all the best from the King James and fixes it's errors. (The King James is a very good translation in many ways but is disqualified for it's awful translation of Numbers 14:34 that is such a dreadful and dangerous mistranslation it is enough for me to reject it.)
When you find a passage of the Bible that raises question; aside from praying about it; you can also go and check for different translations to get a better understanding of it; but even better; you should definitely check the interlinear Bible and a Strong's concordance so as to see what the original hebrew and greek says.
-----
I hope this will help you in your walk; be very careful of whom you trust, as in the last day, there are many false teachers trying to tickle our ears with pleasant things we wanna ear rather than feeding us with what we need to grow in Christ. (Also, read 1 Kings 13; this has been a very instrumental chapter in giving me discernment about what to do when some men teachings appear to contradict the Word of God in any way.)
God bless you.

"Draw Me Close"
Draw me close to you
Never let me go
I lay it all down again
To hear you say that I'm your friend
You are my desire
No one else will do
Cause nothing else can take your place
To feel the warmth of your embrace
Help me find the way
Bring me back to you
You're all I want
You're all I've ever needed
You're all I want
Help me know you are near
"I Am Thine O Lord"
I am Thine, O Lord, I have heard Thy voice,
And it told Thy love to me;
But I long to rise in the arms of faith,
And be closer drawn to Thee.
Draw me nearer, nearer, blessed Lord,
To the cross where Thou hast died;
Draw me nearer, nearer, nearer, blessed Lord,
To Thy precious, bleeding side.
Consecrate me now to Thy service, Lord,
By the powโr of grace divine;
Let my soul look up with a steadfast hope,
And my will be lost in Thine.
O the pure delight of a single hour
That before Thy throne I spend,
When I kneel in prayer, and with Thee, my God,
I commune as friend with friend!
There are depths of love that I yet may know
Ere Thee face to face I see;
There are heights of joy that I yet may reach
Ere I rest in peace with Thee.
Draw me close to You
Never let me go
I lay it all down again
To hear You say that I'm Your friend
You are my desire
No one else will do
No onle else can take Your place
To feel the warmth of Your embrace
Help me find my way
Bring me back to You
Chorus:
You're all I want
You're all I've ever needed
You're all I want
Help me know You are near
You're all I want
You're all I've ever needed
You're all I want
Help me know You are near (x3)
Draw me nearer, nearer blessed Lord
To the cross where Thou hast died
Draw me nearer, nearer blessed Lord
To Thy preciuos bleeding side
