Means To An End
Doom Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Hateful glances, violent dances,
Vicious rumors and gossip mongers.
All the mind games
And pointless slander
Will not help us to achieve
Our goals and Dreams
We are one, united, bonded
Lets all be friends.

Lets all be friends
A means to an end.

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to Doom's song Means To An End touch on the theme of unity and how it is achievable through the recognition of the futility of hate and violence. The opening lines depict a society where people cast hateful glances and engage in violent dances as a means of communication. They also indulge in vicious rumors and gossip with the hope of achieving their dreams. However, the singer points out that such behavior is pointless and will not help in achieving their goals.

The singer urges everyone to come together and be friends, recognizing that it is a means to an end. The idea of being united and bonded is emphasized as the only way to achieve anything meaningful. The song's message is relevant today as it emphasizes the importance of embracing dialogue and understanding in the face of differences. This is particularly poignant in today's world, where division and hate are rife.

I like how peaceville still has rights to this. after the exploitation and mismanagement I cannot believe anyone would support this publisher.

Doom A Means to an End from Total Doom 0603m 22.12.21 might have been crappy staff fucking things up(?) that said, i think, with such a small concern as peaceville - which i like, by the way - they'd've collared the skanks... all those chain with no name concerns were cool by me... they got it right when they implemented the cartel... "the cartel!!!!!" tell the hysterical b/stards to eff off!!! .....imagine that, though, some semblance of cohesion within the crappy chaos of making a few quid was achieved - if only for a few years... this band was cool by me, also.... as were electro hippies and heresy (or if you hastily purchase something without reading: hearsay...) anyhow; incomprehension aside whether it be band monikers or lyrics - it was nice while it lasted... though some folk didnt think they'd have to be repeating the same old b.s time after time... to sate some deranged harriden and her desire to see anyone connected to such music and/or fleeting ideals toasted.
