Doomsday Refreshment Committee Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
That's where it hides
A part if you so black
It never dies
There's only so much
That you can hide away
Your HELL is coming
There is no love
Breed only hate
It's time to wake up
Accept your fate
Come into me
And you will see
I am the everything
That you hope to be
I am the strong
I will survive
And I will never be
A drone in the hive
The war I wage
Will be won
The taste of victory
Army Of One!
The lyrics to Doomsday Refreshment Committee's song Black talks about the hidden side of a person that is often kept hidden from the public. The song describes a part of the person that is described as so black that it never dies, meaning it is a deeply ingrained part of their personality. The first two lines hint at the inner conflict that the person experiences as a result of the dark part of them. The chorus reveals that there is no love, only hate, further emphasizing the negative aspects of the person's psyche.
The verse "Come into me and you will see, I am the everything that you hope to be" implies that the person believes they have everything figured out and that they are better than those around them. The song urges the listener to wake up and accept their fate, which could potentially mean that they should come to terms with the negative aspect of themselves. The line "I am strong, I will survive, and I will never be a drone in the hive" implies that the person believes they are better off alone than with others.
The song's conclusion celebrates an impending victory, with the singer expressing the belief that the war they wage will be won, and they will taste victory as an army of one. Overall the song portrays the inner turmoil that one might feel while embracing the darker side of oneself while at the same time, believing they are better than the others.

Why did he stop making music? If he would have put a little more effort into it and figured out how to play live (if he didn't) I believe it would have taken off

I know he did a live show in NY a while back. But I have not heard from him in years due to moving out of state. But I agree if he pushed his potential out more he would have got big. Told him that all the time.
