WORKING MAN
Doosu Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Your hands on the dash
In your little fast car
Acceleration was too much for you
Life's getting slower
Traffic's getting slower than that
I move fast, so please, please move fast
You work all day inside
You work the nine to five
Can I see your license to drive?
Since five you only know speed
Life's getting slower
Traffic's getting slower than that
I move fast, so please, please move fast
They move fast
You move fast
I move fast
We move fast...
Hit the brakes.
The lyrics to Doosu's song Working Man seem to paint a picture of a person in a car, pushing the speed limit and moving fast through the streets. The song begins with the image of a clear windshield and the driver's hands on the dash. They are driving a fast car, and it seems that the thrill of acceleration may have been too much for the driver. As the song progresses, we get the sense that the driver is frustrated with the speed of traffic and wants to keep moving fast.
The lyrics also touch on the idea of the working man. The driver is described as someone who works the nine to five and only knows speed since five. This could suggest that the driver is using the fast driving as a sort of escape from their mundane job or routine. There is also the line "Can I see your license to drive?", which could be interpreted in multiple ways. It could be seen as a challenge from the driver to prove their own skill or as a commentary on the dangerous nature of driving fast.
Overall, the song seems to be about the desire for speed and the tension between moving quickly through life and the reality of a slower pace. It touches on themes of work, routine, and the thrills of pushing boundaries.
