Dark Foil
Dopethrone Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Dark side of the foil
Oh the demon sugar
Molesting your soul
Mainline I never will
I need a beer
So I can cope with your lies
Chasing the dragon
Popping
Or going down the line

Needle
Fuck it

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of the song "Dark Foil" by Dopethrone seem to be revolving around the themes of substance abuse and addiction. The first line "Dark side of the foil" is likely referring to using tin foil to smoke drugs, specifically heroin or crack cocaine, which can have a dark and dangerous impact on a person's life. The "demon sugar" could be a metaphor for the addictive nature of drugs, and how they can corrupt and consume a person's soul. The singer acknowledges how they will never try mainlining, a more direct and potentially lethal way of taking drugs, but still rely on alcohol to cope.

The chorus of the song refers to different methods of taking drugs, including "chasing the dragon" (a phrase commonly used when smoking heroin) and "going down the line" (snorting drugs). The use of the word "needle" at the end highlights the seriousness of the situation and the devastating effects it can have on an individual.

Overall, the lyrics seem to paint a bleak picture of the dark and destructive world of addiction, highlighting the lies and desperation that often accompany it.

@prettyugly6089

One of the absolute sickest albums in this genre. Hands down. Line it up at the top with the other classics.

@gravandoalto

agree.

@LemursManLemurs1

This album and Hochelaga are their best for sure. Dopethrone, Electric Wizard, and Uncle Acid are my favorite metal bands. Mastodon being in a close 4th. Between those 4 bands I could stop listening to all other music, checking out new bands etc., and still be far more than content (I won't, but I could)

@alexsingleton907

And they only get better each album since

@skeven0
