„Brainscan“ erste Bühnenerfahrung. Er spielte viele Konzerte in verschiedenen Teilen Deutschlands und übte somit auch stetig sein Taktgefühl. Als man sich innerhalb der Band allerdings in unterschiedliche musikalische Richtungen entwickelte verließ er schließlich nach knapp 3 Jahren die Band um sich ruhigeren Musikrichtungen zu widmen. Er wagte sich erstmals an eigene Kompositionen, fing an Texte zu schreiben und seine Stimme zu trainieren und wanderte dabei immer mehr in Richtung
Reggae und Dancehall…
Den Anfang als „Dopewalka“ nahm alles in einem bescheiden eingerichteten Homerecording-Studio
im Süden von Bayern wo er lange Zeit an Riddims und Texten bastelte. Bald fing er auch an diese per Internet unter die Leute zu bringen.
Durch langes Experimentieren entwickelte er sich immer weiter und pendelte sich letztendlich auf eine ganz eigene Mischung aus Reggae, Dancehall und einer Prise HipHop mit gemischt deutsch-englischen Texten ein. Ohne musikalische Scheuklappen lässt man auch immer wieder andere Stile miteinfließen.
Erst 2005 ging er dann wieder auf die Bühne. Diesmal allerdings nicht mehr als Drummer im Hintergrund sondern tonangebend als Sänger. Seitdem war er mit verschiedenen Sounds aus Deutschland und Österreich zu sehen und sammelt fleißig Live-Erfahrung…
Die eigenen Riddims und Instrumentalstücke entstehen oft in Zusammenarbeit mit dem ehemaligen Bandkollegen Hannes und gelegentlich auch mit anderen befreundeten Musikern. Hannes, als Bassist und leidenschaftlicher Percussionist war von Anfang an ein Teil des Projekts und versucht sich auch heute noch, wann es nur geht der Musik zu widmen und gemeinsam mit Dopewalka
an neuen Songs zu feilen.
Seit Sommer 2007 ist endlich das erste Album „Fernweh“ im Kasten
und als kostenloser Download erhältlich. Das Album enthält,
mit 16 abwechslungsreichen Tracks und 60 Minuten Spielzeit,
das Beste aus ca. 5 Jahren Dopewalka.
Über einige alte Songs wie „Last Night“ oder „Wasserfall der Kreativität“
bis hin zu neuen Tunes wie „Lively Up Yourself“, „Captivity“ und
„Meant To Be Together“ bietet es eine schöne Auswahl an Songs
im typischen Dopewalka-Stil: kritisch, durchdacht, hausgemacht
und mit jeder Menge Ohrwurm-Potenzial.
Nicht zuletzt die originellen Remixes machen das
Album vielseitig und abwechslungsreich…
Für 2007 sind außerdem schon diverse Auftritte mit Backing-Band sowie Unplugged-Sessions
mit Hannes und anderen in Aussicht. Zudem will Dopewalka mit diversen Labels
zukünftig weitere Tracks und Alben produzieren.
Wohin sein weiterer Weg ihn letztendlich führt bleibt abzuwarten…
