Hard Times
Doro Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

It's too real to be really right

It's so real it kept me up all night

A broken promise on the street of dreams

Left us here, we're down on our knees
With one shot

And one bite

The walls collapsed with a terrible fright

Minute by minute

Day by day

I feel this place is crumblin' away

Hard Times

We gotta break throught these

Hard Times yea!

Hard Times

Change the face of these

Hard Times yea!

Ev'rybody, ev'rywhere

It's easy talkin' when you're talkin' cheap

It's harder walkin' when you're in this deep

There's too much pressure

And there's too much pain

Too many people bein' driven insane

With one shot

And one bite

The world could change from dark to light

Station to Nation

Face to face

There must be someway to save this place

Hard Times

We gotta break throught these

Hard Times yea!

Hard Times

Change the face of these

Hard Times yea!

Ev'rybody, ev'rywhere

Now fair is fair

Hope needs a lot of care

It's time we all understand

The power in our hands

Hard Times

Hard Times yea!

Hard Times

Hard Times

Hard Times

We gotta break throught these

Hard Times yea!

Hard Times

We'll change the face of these

Hard Times yea!

Hard Times

Hard Times

Hard Times yea!

Hard Times

Hard Times

Hard Times yea!

La voz y belleza del heavy metal femenino, una reina

Doro Pesch rules. I have been a fan of hers since the early 80's. It's so cool that she's still putting out new material an touring.

@mistymangham4410

Jon Levin so underrated as a guitarist.

It's 2023 and I'm still ROCKING this song. I LOVE IT !!!! 😊❤😊❤

@shanebailey340

This is everything metal SHOULD and IS SUPPOSED TO be: thundering drums, grinding guitars (check that solo!), thudding bass and powerful, soaring, melodic vocals. Somewhere, somehow, metal as a whole lost its way. It took someone who didn't have (actual) balls to put give metal its (proverbial) balls back. And damn; could she sing! I would call her the German RJD (for her raspy upper register) or a female Joey Belladonna (for her highly melodic tones), but she is in a class by herself; there's no denying that.

@dewfpd

That would be current Dokken guitarist Jon Levin... He kicks ass!

@rodneymeadows7658

YES She is! She's even better live!

@cabowabo2919

THE best song off of Force Majeure and probably the best Doro has ever done . . flat out rocker. Jon Levin at his best guitar work.

The true Metal Queen

@fuzzo73

This woman captivated me as a 14 year old kid discovering heavy metal. The video for "All We Are", coupled with her unmistakable voice, took me somewhere else. Triumph and Agony is still a pleasure to pull from the cd shelf and crank all these years later. I love her solo stuff too, but nothing hits you like the music you hear when you're a pimple faced teen...
