Doro was born in Düsseldorf, NRW, West Germany on 3 June 1964, as the only child of Walter, a truck driver, and Barbara Pesch. Doro's first memory of rock music is the song "Lucille" by Little Richard, which she sang when she was three years old. She learned to play piano and started singing at the age of ten years, when she was exposed to the glam rock of bands like T. Rex, The Sweet and Slade. In 1980, she was accepted in her first band called Snakebite, which was playing rock music in a Düsseldorf basement used as rehearsal space by many other underground groups. The first recording with Doro on vocals was a cheap 7-track demo released by Snakebite for promotion. When Snakebite disbanded in 1981, Doro went on to sing for the garage bands Beast and Attack, before forming Warlock with Peter Szigeti, Rudy Graf, Thomas Studier, and Michael Eurich in 1982
After Warlock underwent many personnel changes, Pesch was the only remaining original member of the band. After changing her record label, she released in 1989 the fifth album as Doro, as the former label owned the trademark on the Warlock name.
Pesch now pursues a solo career and lives in New York City. 2004 album Classic Diamonds was a collaboration with The Classic Night Orchestra which reworked some of her earlier songs. Fear No Evil released in 2009 saw a brief return to the US and currently touring Europe celebrating 25 Years in Rock with a full fledged DVD out on Nuclear Blast.
She released her first album in six years, Forever Warriors - Forever United, on 17 August 2018, entering in many charts worldwide.

World Gone Wild
Doro Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
A billion souls without destiny
Livin', lovin', cryin'
Polish the prison, sharpen the knife
Livin', lovin', dyin'
Ev'rybody keeps movin' on and on
Never seeing anything that could be wrong
The world's gone wild
The world's gone wild again
The world's gone wild
You can almost feel the end
Listen sister
Load your pistol
The world's gone wild
We're losin' hold of our sanity
Tempting fate with our fantasies
Livin', lovin', cryin'
Sellin' secrets and tellin' lies
We're face to face with no alibis
Livin', lovin', dyin'
Ev'rybody keeps movin' on and on
Never seein' anything that could be wrong
The world's gone wild
The world's gone wild again
The world's gone wild
You can almost feel the end
Listen sister
Load your pistol
The world's gone wild
The world's gone wild
The world's gone wild
The world's gone wild
The world's gone wild
Oh the world's gone wild
The world's gone wild again
The world's gone wild
You can almost feel the end
Listen sister
Load your pistol
The world's gone wild
World's gone wild
World's gone wild again
World's gone wild
World's gone wild again...
World's gone wild
World's gone wild again
World's gone wild
World's gone wild again...
The lyrics to Doro's song World Gone Wild paint a picture of a society that is falling apart. The opening lines describe a "flamin' hole" in society with "a billion souls without destiny." This seems to suggest that people are struggling to find meaning and purpose in their lives. The chorus of the song emphasizes that the world has truly gone wild, with the lyrics repeating "The world's gone wild" several times.
The verses of the song suggest that people are living their lives in a way that is harmful to themselves and others. They are "feedin' the system" and "polish[ing] the prison," indicating that they are contributing to the oppressive systems that keep them trapped. People are also "tempting fate with their fantasies" and "sellin' secrets and tellin' lies," suggesting that they are engaging in behaviors that could lead to their downfall.
Overall, the lyrics to World Gone Wild suggest that people are lost and struggling in a world that has become chaotic and dangerous. The repeated refrain of "Listen sister/ Load your pistol" suggests that the only way to survive is to arm oneself and prepare for the worst.
