Honestly, I think the difficulty spike here is justified.

It’s hard enough to face your own fears with no external help, but now the memories of someone with arguably more traumatic experiences have just been smashed together with yours, forming an incoherent mess. Its tough because you’re forced to deal with two minds at the same time instead of just one. And Razputin’s mind is so ironclad, when someone DOES come to try and help, they can’t break through to his psyche for a while.

@Jessica Lapsley It's a quote from this level because you have to protect a character from enemies because essentially your minds got merged so if the character dies you die too but you they fly to where they have to go instantly which has enemy spawners so you have to go through platforming segments just to get over there meanwhile the character you're protecting is being damaged during all of this and only restores health once you complete that part of protecting him

It's a specific case because the level is the mind of someone who was tramatized by gore (kinda, don't want to spoil too much).

This game will deal with alot about the human psyche and with it tramas and whatnot so it might be triggering for some.

Basically, don't play the game up til this level if you also have a father who is a butcher and have many issues with said father.

@Chaos inc. Ironically, the difficulty curve isn’t that bad…..if Raz ignores using Levitation for the most part. That one power allows players to cut so many corners for the play forming that a level that requires it means the players are out of practice.

First of all, this song is great. It's done really well, and this is just a bit of an idea. Have you thought about using different voices for the circus bits and the butcher bits?
I.E. The most electrifying, daredevil, highflying/The most exciting stunts you'll ever see! would have voice 1 and BUTCHERY! would have voice 2. Then you could do both or something for the lines that fit either themes. That way you would really fit the "2 traumas mixed into 1" vibe the level and lyrics seem to give. I'd say it would /blend/ pretty well!

It wasn't THAT hard. Getting to the Butcher was a little tricky, but with levitation Rasputin's Father is a breeze and the duo fight is really easy one you figure out what to do. And the last bit was literally the easiest part of the game. I had more trouble with basis braining (they didn't say how to turn around while swinging until after I got past that part so I had to turn around mid-jump) but it was still really easy.

Although yes, this music does give me massive PTSD flashbacks, it also reminds me that I played Psychonauts for the first time with my dad and we had a load of fun handing the controller back and forth trying to beat each level. Good memories and trauma, as mashed together as the circus and the butchery.
