Hitchhiker's began on radio, and developed into a "trilogy" of five books (which sold more than fifteen million copies during his lifetime), as well as a television series, a stage show, a comic book series, a computer game, and a feature film that was completed after Adams's death.

Bit of a shame, actually, I listen to all of the Douglas audiobooks, and the five radio series, and even the tv soundtrack at least twice a year. Wouldn’t mind hearing Freeman’s readings, once, just for a change, but no way I’m ever going to buy them.

Check out the ending for the dramatized radio series. The whole gang end up back in miliways, arthur and fenchurch are reunited, marvins back annoying everybody.
