Down With Webster formed in Toronto in the late 90's, beginning as a high school talent show jam band. They recently signed with Universal Motown in April 2009.
In 2007, after multiple demo releases, they released their self titled album and it was available on the Kill The 8 store, as well as merch.
And in 2008, Down With Webster won the Rogers Mobile/Universal Music best unsigned artist in Canada award, and in 2009 both KISS front man Gene Simmons and Timbaland expressed interest in signing the band to their respective labels. According Timbaland, "That group is the most amazing and creative, innovative group that’s going to come out in 2010."
The band's debut EP Time to Win Vol. 1 was released on October 6, 2009, and the single "Rich Girl$" debuted on the Canadian Hot 100 at #47 for the week of October 24, 2009, and peaked at #21 on January 9, 2010. The follow-up single "Your Man" was released to Canadian radio stations in January 2010. Since then it has peaked at #12 on the Canadian Hot 100, outperforming their debut single on the chart. In August 2010, the band released "Whoa is Me" as their last single on the "Time to Win, Vol. 1" EP.
From mid-October 2010 through late November, Down with Webster toured with 3oh!3 on the "Streets of Gold" tour. They gained a large American following during this. After the tour, the boys arrived back to Toronto to finish recording their follow-up album, "Time to Win, Vol. 2" before their own headlining tour, "Wintour 2011". The album was released on November 1st, 2011
The band is from the Beaches neighbourhood in Toronto and have played the Beaches International Jazz Festival from 2003-2005 and can be seen walking around this neighbourhood in the summer.
They released their final album "Party For Your Life" on January 28th, 2014 to rave reviews. Amanda Hather of Canadian Beats gave the album a 4.5/5, saying "Whether you are a fan of all of the genres that Down With Webster somehow manage to mix into their songs, there is something for everyone on this album." Davina Sinnatamby of Tangible Sound gave the album a 4/5, closing her review with "So if you feel like a shot of something stronger that caffeine or alcohol; I'd recommend listening to this whole album. The songs don't just make you want to get up and dance; the fast rhythms, smooth rhymes and poetic lyrics make you want to live forever."
After a few years without producing any music or performing any live shows, the band posted on their Facebook on June 2, 2017, that they would be going on a hiatus. Gillett, Armes, Hunter, and Martino formed a new band called Honors. Bucky has started a new project called Karter Park with original Down with Webster member Kierscey. Ferris has built a following as a DJ in Toronto.

'Cause you know it don't matter anyway
Say money, money won't get you too far, get you too far
It feels like we haven't seen each other in years
Why don't you join me for a couple of beers, clink, cheers
Wow, I seen you on my FaceBook profile
Sending me a message and then offerin' the smiles out
You're supposed to laugh that's a joke hun
I like to poke fun, so don't take it to the heart
Last time I heard you was in school studying art
So what, you dropped out and now your work in the bar
But I thought you had it made a big house and a car
I'ma try to get paid for what I say on stage
But if you're already paid then I guess you got it made
You're a rich girl and it's gone too far
'Cause you know it don't matter anyway
You can rely on the old man's money
You can rely on the old man's money
It's a bitch girl and it's gone to far
'Cause you know it don't matter anyway
Say money, money won't get you too far, get you too far
We're together now, we haven't seen each other in days
I'm on the road trying to make my way okay!
Cause going at the clubs ain't cheap
And neither are the clothes on your back
Or the shoes on your feet girl
Your daddy got the dough that's right
His people he be breakin you off yeah off
In her world, a boat's a yacht, a king size bed's a cot
A million's not a lot
I'm just tryna get paid for what I say on stage
But if your already paid then I guess you got it made
You're a rich girl and it's gone to far
'Cause you know it don't matter anyway
You can rely on the old man's money
You can rely on the old man's money
It's a bitch girl and it's gone to far
'Cause you know it don't matter anyway
Say money, money won't get you too far, get you too far
There ain't no justice in the halls
I saw the writing on the wall
Dad's money's gonna back it up girlfriend
Dad's money just to back it up girl
I saw you headed for a fall
I was the one who made the call
Dad's money's gonna back it up girlfriend
Dad's money just a back it up girl
You're a rich girl and it's gone to far
'Cause you know it don't matter anyway
You can rely on the old man's money
You can rely on the old man's money
It's a bitch girl and it's gone to far
'Cause you know it don't matter anyway
Say money, money won't get you too far, get you too far
The lyrics of the song Rich Girl$ by Down with Webster convey the message that being rich is not everything in life. The song talks about two different perspectives; one from the artist who is trying to make it big in the music industry and the other from a rich girl. The girl is portrayed as someone who relies solely on her family's wealth rather than on her own abilities. The artist struggles to make a living, perform at various clubs, and make his way up the ladder, while the girl is content with her father's money. Hence, the lyrics are a commentary on the importance of hard work and dedication, rather than relying solely on monetary support.
The artist tries to make the girl see that being rich isn't everything and that she should strive to achieve success on her own without relying on her father's money. The lyrics of the song also talk about the irony of the situation. Even though the artist is struggling to make a living, he is still content with what he has. On the other hand, the girl who has everything is still not happy. The song conveys the message that being rich does not guarantee happiness and that true happiness comes from within.
Overall, the lyrics of the song Rich Girl$ are a commentary on the superficiality of material wealth and how it is important to find happiness within oneself rather than relying solely on external factors like money.

I live in a little town pop. 18,500 in Canada and DWW came and played one night in -30c. It was probably the most epic thing ever to happen in this town!
