that's it
Dr.K Lyrics

Suck it up, Replay, chin up, we've all got Pain
Yours ain't Special, denial, your refrain
Conclusion drawn from the Echoes of the Past
Evidence to the contrary, in Shadows Vast
Raised like a private in the military
After my father's Death, my Grief solitary
I called attention to my Agony, left to defy
Far older than twenty, just claimed to hurt worse than I
Why not help the boy, you claimed as your son
Who faced your wrath, I was the only one
Days of old, you say, they're dead and gone
Yet, Trauma lingers on, Memory remains with the Dawn
Claimed Damage was too fresh after the Event was spawned
Suck it up, you said, chin up, we've all got Pain
Yours ain't Special, denial, your refrain
Conclusion drawn from the Echoes of the Past
Evidence to the contrary, in Shadows Vast
Unveiled truth, of spinal injuries akin
Bad posture you said, a blame game you'd win
Beware, wicked words from your wormy tongue
Registered, hell's haunting bells duly rung
A degenerative Condition, buried beneath your Shame
Efforts to Disguise, you play a dangerous Game
Injuries from a car crash, splattered on the Road
Nothing compared to Fibromyalgia, my Truth untold
Suck it up, you said, chin up, we've all got our hurt
Yours ain't Special, you claimed, inspired my hair-shirt
Conclusion drawn from an askew view of the Past
Found evidence to the contrary, opening my eyes, at last
Claimed my illness was fake, a shallow Show
Autistic, honest by design, something you didn't know
ASD, a high Tolerance for Pain, sets your Lies aglow
Every interruption, a Testament to the Blow
Suck it up, you said, chin up, we've all got Scars
Yours ain't special, Denial with a dose of Disregard
Conclusion drawn from Remembrance of the Past
Evidence to the contrary, in Darkness so vast
Twenty-plus chronic Conditions, Autism linking 'em all
Beautiful Construct of my Brain, standing firm and tall
A black sheep or a White Lamb, handled better
Made pure in the eyes of Karma, irony's Grand Letter
Suck it up, you said, chin up, and guess what, I stood
In Pain, denied, perpetuated in Falsehood
Evolved in the Twist of Capitulation
Look at the Success, a Rebirth from your vile Denunciation
Twenty-plus chronic Conditions, Autism linking 'em all
Beautiful Construct of my Brain, standing firm and tall
Suck it up, you said, chin up, and I stood
In Pain, denied, perpetuated in Falsehood
Conclusion drawn from Remembrance of the Past
Evidence to the contrary, in Darkness so vast

Suck it up, you said, chin up, well, I stood
Denied your Falsehood, uh

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to Dr.K's song "That's It, I Quit" describe a relationship that has gone sour. In the past, the two parties "used to have our time together" and "party with each other." However, now when the singer attempts to contact their partner, they "stall" and "don't want to know when I say go." The singer describes their partner's physical appearance, noting that they used to "look just like a queen" but now "just look dirty" and claim to be younger than they actually are. The singer begins to suspect their partner is cheating on them and they want to know "who you are lying under." In the end, the singer decides to end the relationship and "don't want to see you anymore."

The lyrics describe the emotional journey of someone who has seen their relationship deteriorate. Initially, the two parties were enjoying each other's company, but over time, cracks began to appear, and the singer started to see their partner's flaws. Ultimately, they reject their partner as they become disillusioned with them. The song emphasizes the importance of communication in building strong relationships and the devastating effects of dishonesty and deceit.

HR: "We're here for you, don't feel burnt out. How can we help? We'll do whatever it takes."
Me: "Would you get IT to fix the VPN and stop restarting my computer every other day? I'm losing tons of work and it's stressing me out."
HR: "Eh, no, we won't do that."

HR: "Eh, we'll declare a meeting-free day every other week. But the managers will immediately book up those days since they'll see everyone is free that day."

HR: "Here, have a weekly motivational email."

@Dori C because it's a growth opportunity - I can tell you the answer, but if you come to it yourself how to succeed with never happy karens - and turn them happy - it'll be the key to success

@hawaiisunfun You replied to my comment about retail jobs being draining due to never happy karens. How does learning help with that exactly?

hawaiisunfun

@Dori C what part of that did you not get? If something in life's hard, but you learn from it - it's not bad overall

HR is nobody’s friend but the company’s. Don’t forget that.

DreamBrush

100% this. My supervisor said some insanely inappropriate shit to me regarding my anxiety disorder but also tried to make me sign a contract that would basically make me be paid less because of inability to work at times due to panics and fatigue instead of giving me accommodations and I reported her to the HR. She admitted to doing those things but wasn't fired because I didn't had photo/video evidence of that contract, which would be worth suing my work so they basically were lucky. I left that job immediately.

So yeah, always document the shit you are going through or join a union if you can.

@Christa Cain I’m tired of comments like this because at the end of the day, you might be a great hr but you aren’t part of the majority, but in the minority. That’s the problem.

People who intentionally pursue careers in Human Resources are generally aligned as either lawful neutral, in some more extreme cases as lawful evil, and in very rare cases as lawful good. It basically means they adhere to the power structures in place for a company regardless of any ethical compromises it may require. In many cases, those power structures are relatively harmless, but that adherence to power structures - and particularly how hierarchy and meritocracy fit into them - can be dangerous.
