@😁Henrys World if you talk to anyone who played guitar then they’d tell yo he was a great rhythm guitarist and guitarist overall. McCartney was a control freak and Lennon wasn’t so naturally when it’s not Lennon’s song he doesn’t take it over. He added his own stuff but McCartney needs to tell him the chords but from there it was all Lennon, Harrison needed to learn his parts too. You judging this based off of the movie but I am judging this off of all of their albums. Have you heard all my loving to you, dear prudence, or literally any of the the old rock and roll songs? You must’ve skipped any song that wasn’t Paul’s because don’t let me down was arguably the best song in the movie and he played great guitar on that. There’s no way you play guitar if you think John Lennon wasn’t great at guitar.

I have watched the film twice over now - and personally I believe the 3 greatest Beatles singles were all written by McCartney - yesterday , blackbird , and hey Jude .
I liked Lennon and to be honest , I can't really stomach McCartney- but he was the main man without a shadow of a doubt . He literally used to show Lennon how to play the guitar peice on each track 😂

@😁Henrys World if you play guitar then you should know that Lennon was an exceptional rhythm guitarist. And to say McCartney was the talent of the group is a bit far. If you watched that documentary you’ll see a heroin addict John Lennon who most likely never came around to writing much because they had just nearly finished recording abbey road. On pretty much every Beatles album John’s songs were the best by far except for the last 2, which I would argue that George had the best songs for Abbey road. I think they’re all talented and maybe Paul is better with an instrument but John was still a better musician from a creative stand point.

As a musician of over 27 years I think I have a good understanding of how good a guitarist is - I can safely say Lennon couldn't lace my boots 😂. But I know that was just the era . He was no Clapton ! But he was a genius don't get me wrong - just an average guitar player

@Miami SWL Radio the true answer is lost to time on why they would play the same 5 songs over a over again for 40 minutes if they really had the intent of playing other quieter songs. They did have other instruments besides the keyboard up there. They most likely were waiting for the wind to die down which it never did before they were shut down.

As Rick Beato points out there were NO monitors, NO earpieces, nothing. Just singing into microphones, outdoors in London, in January, an entire concert. That's not for the faint of heart yet at their level of mastery it was effortless.

I'm not a "fan fan" of the Beatles, I like some of there stuff, sure. I get it. That said, being a casual listener of the Beatles at best, even I'm excited about this. I can imagine what it must feel like to those that have been on board with these 4 since the early days. True. Hype!

I think Paul was the one wanting to 'get back' on the road again. John and George had other things on their mind. Such a pity it never came to be. It would've been a very different experience from the 1964/1965 concerts after Woodstock. Glad we had the rooftop footage to give us a glimpse of the fab 4 at that time. Magic!

There's many people that still "don't get" the fascination and continuing mania of The Beatles. I've stopped trying to give reasons or having debates. There's no reasoning. Now, I just feel sorry that they'll go a lifetime of never knowing the genius of the band, their music and their impact on our culture.

I was 5 years old and recall when my older brother told my other brother that "The Beatles broke up". Such societal change back then. Although I heard the Beatles music growing up most of the bands I liked STARTED in 1969 and after. Led Zeppelin and such. Watching the documentary I am reminded how far ahead they were. And cool to watch the creative process from John and Paul. No egos. They are focused on the end product. And basically the band is getting along here. They knew it was done, but they wanted to go out well. And man, Billy Preston adds allot to them! With Billy in the and, they could have still created more great stuff. Would have liked to hear more discussions between the band and Billy talking about him working with Ray, Sam Cooke, the Everly Brothers and Aretha. He played keys with the King Cutis Band on the Aretha live at the Fillmore concert. Those were probably some great stories!

This does take my back to my childhood!

I think the Beatles last performance was brilliant. They ended at a perfect time. Not to just fade away like most due or split because of members not agreeing on certain things. It couldnt have ended any better.

I ordered Disney+ at our Telekom Provider just because of the Peter Jackson "Beatles-Docu" ! 💖💖💖💖
I was born 1961 and grew up at my grandma in Germany, while the younger brother of my dad still lived there. So I had the pleasure to come in touch with the best music of the Beatles, the Stones, the Doors..., but also with Bohemian Polka-Music, that my Grandma listened to ! 😎
I was a huuuge Beatles fan from the first moment on, despite all the other bands I could listen to everyday ! Don't ask me why, but the BEATLES were, and will always be, my alltime favourites, even with all the other great bands, that had !!!! 🥰🥰🥰
So I am counting down the days, waiting for this fabulous documentation of music history !!! 💖🌟💖
It will bring back soooo many memories ! And btw. George Harrison was my Idol ! Wich one was yours ? 😎

@Mike Martin I still haven't seen episode three, but I have seen parts one and two, and I've now seen reviews of part three. Someone uploaded the concert footage last Friday, so I saw that before it was pulled.

My initial guess for the three parts was:

Part one would end with the move to Apple (I was wrong. It ended with George leaving the band, which makes much more sense).
Part two would end before they got the idea to do the concert on the roof (I was wrong here, too. Part two ends with Paul, Ringo, and some crew testing out the stability of the roof. I initially thought that it would end with like a lot of uncertainty over what to do to end the film).
What I do know about part three at this point, still having not seen it, is that it involves Heather coming by and playing with the Beatles, and that there's a bit of aftermath after the concert.
