@mlwelter

I love my hooga 300. I've had it about 2.5 yrs. Super happy with it

@jasielunzueta5391

Does it have 850 nm only mode? Or is both 660nm and 850nm at the same time?

@BobDiaz123

I considered the HG-300, but for a bit less I found the HG-200 to be a better starting IR light. It comes with a stand and a built in 10, 15, & 20 minute timer. As for noise, the sound is a soft low pitched sound. I've been using it for months now and I love it. Plus, the code, "ALEX" does work for this model.

@AlexFergusdotcom

Hey oh thats neat! Yeah the built in timer is handy! Thanks for sharing this info.

@brookekasprzyk4850

How are you liking the 200? I am purchasing for the face and I am worried it might be too small. The code ALEX seems to be working for me.

@BobDiaz123

@@brookekasprzyk4850 When I measure only the LED Array, I get 5 inches by 8 inches (12.7cm x 20.3cm). At normal distances, the light will cover a slightly larger area, maybe 5% to 10% more.***(see Note) If you measure your face, it will just cover it, but there's not any extra room.

I use it for my hands to help with arthritis. I do love the HG-200, it works great. I do move my hand slowly in the light to even out the exposure. You'll want to do the same with your face.

* Note: You might think that the light will spread out more as you move the panel farther back, but the spread does not expand as much as you might expect. The 5 inches by 8 inches (12.7cm x 20.3cm) area shows a hot spot and there's a rapid fall off of the light as you move outside the hot spot.

@brookekasprzyk4850

@@BobDiaz123 Thank you. Just got it in the mail. I tried it on my profile and I can feel it really hit (heat up) my cheek and I have to move my face around like you said to even out exposure. It does have a rather small hot spot area. I don't think I would recommend the HG200 for anything larger than a hand or face.

@BobDiaz123

@@brookekasprzyk4850 I'm glad it came. Yes, the area covered is somewhat small, BUT for things like my hands and face, it works well. Some day I really have to pose a review on YouTube.

@dede4738

Thanks for this nice review. I have an HG500 and really like it. I actually like the basic design and use the hanging kit to attach it to a door. I have been using it for about eight months, mostly to improve my sleep, but it has also helped with muscle recovery from overuse. As you mentioned, there is no timer so I just use my phone.
