Sun
Drax Ltd. II Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
What have I done to you?
Cut so deep
Yet growing through and through
Drawn apart
New York and London
All I see now
The roads I knew
Became a city
And I wonder
Will you wait for me?
Although
I'm far away
I know I'll stay, I know I'll stay
Right there with you
Though
It might be too late
What would you say? What would you say?
What would you do?
I built a hive
Became one with the bees
But we fell like rain
Got lost into the sea
If I don't know
The wind will carry me
So just hold tight
Though
I'm far away
I know I'll stay, I know I'll stay
Right there with you
And though
It might be too late
What would you say? What would you say?
What would you do?
Over and over
Many setting suns
I have run
I have waited for the rain to come
When through that mist
I see the shape of you
And I know, and I know
That I'm in love with you
Though
I'm far away
I know I'll stay, I know I'll stay
Right there with you
And though
It might be too late
What would you say? What would you say?
What would you do?
The lyrics to Drax Ltd. II's song "Sun" seem to speak about a distance between two individuals, possibly in a romantic relationship. The first stanza depicts the ocean as a metaphor for the person who has been hurt deeply but still continues to grow. The second stanza describes the separation between New York and London and how the roads which were once familiar have now turned into a city of strangers. The question is posed, "Will you wait for me?" indicating a longing for the other person's faithfulness and loyalty.
In the chorus, the singer professes knowledge of staying close despite physical distance. He adds a line that it might be too late, possibly representing the fear of losing the person altogether. The next stanza touches upon the metaphor of a hive and bees and how they fell and got lost, highlighting the uncertainty and vulnerability of the situation. The singer suggests that if he does not know where he is going, he hopes the wind will carry him, indicating his trust in fate or the universe.
The final stanza brings a glimmer of hope as the singer speaks of waiting for the rain to come, hoping for things to change. The profound message in this song lies in the fact that despite the distance and uncertainty, the singer still holds onto love and continues to believe that they will be together in the end.

Lange played this awesome track in a live set for Twitch 2 months ago! That's how it discovered it in fact! Thank God we still have awesome DJs like him that keep the golden era of trance alive! 😂
Update: the lyrics are super sad! It's like "save me from this emptiness inside", goddamn that's depressing 😂 But still an absolute amazing track! Honestly, the depressing lyrics make it better!

This one speaks to my soul and it's become part of my top 10 trance songs of all time. The resonation of the soul reaching out for something higher, the breakdown after those lyrics, it's magical. I've only really known trance for about 14 years and I know this one is special.
