Doomlord
Dream Evil Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

You can see him riding on the wind
You can see him with his wings of fire
Like the speed of light he rules the winter sky

When its freezing cold he will come back
Like a fireball he's gonna be there
No one can take away his strong will to be free
You want this, you wanna be just as free
In the starlight, black, red and white

Doomlord

In the forest you might hear him scream
Feel his anger, fear his fury
Blood-painted chest with a metal spine

You want this, you wanna be just as free
In the starlight, black, red and white

Doomlord

Vissa år flyttar ett stort antal ut you're landet;
År 1961 noterades vid Falsterbo fågelstation en verklig massflytt,
Då hela 10000 Domherrar under en dag begav sig till Danmark!"

Cast in iron, this soul of mine, my metal spine...

Threw the Swedish into google translate:
"The dominee is used to hunting for a bird table in winter, making it one of the most famous bird species in Sweden.
The male can be very upset if he mimics his fluttery whistling at the turn.
He then stretches out the red chest,
swivels the head with the black caldera back and forth and can also occasionally fly from its viewpoint to the more accurate inspection.
Usually, the judge is a wanderman, but some moves in October to Denmark and Central Europe and will return in March.
Some years move a large number of people out of the country;
In 1961, at Falsterbo Bird Station was noted a real mass migration,
then a total of 10,000 Domaines went to Denmark in one day! "

This is why I love metal, it's the only music genre that can make a song about a bird goddamn epic.

fun fact: the swedish part is being read by a famous swedish comedian who was near by when they were recording so they asked him to read a page from a bird guidebook about a bird which name translates from swedish to "doomlord" freakin guidebook! amazing

Låter lite för bra för att va sant att han "råkade" vara där. Men om det stämmer gjorde han en sjuhelvetes inläsning alltså, grymt imponerande.

(new lyrics) Doomlord, Doomlord, Doomlord, Doomlord. He takes the form of a bird in the dim moonlight, you'll see him in times most dire, where the crows fly he'll blaze like fire, he'll vanquish the enemies from the lightside, Fear his fury, feel his hate, their soul he will take. He's seen things you wouldn't believe, fiery eclipses and moon beams & the manifestation of the godly source.

Actually translates more accurately to Jugement Lord, or Judge Master, since swedish doesn't really have a word for "doom", not in the same sense as the english language does.
The swedish name is Domherre, and dom is the swedish equivalent of "sentencing" or "passing judgement", whilst herre can be both lord, master or mister. It can translate to doom, but that's a stretch.
The swedish word for doom is undergång or förintelse, depending on the context.
