DreamSequence began formation in 2003, and is comprised of David on synth programming and guitar, Steven on drums, and Omar as vocalist. After Omar joined as singer, the band solidified into a tantalizing black and blue persona of electrical force.
The band’s main ambition when performing onstage is to make their audience want to dance. They achieve this through music which contains many facets; ranging from electronic and metal to synth rock and 80’s pop. Their music evokes associations with many different artists yet still resounds uniquely in your ear. For the past four years DreamSequence has been traipsing throughout Southern California, even playing to audiences in the House of Blues, Whisky A Go-Go, and The Key Club.
DreamSequence completed and released their self-titled first album in November 2008, an exciting progression for this band of dreamers! As is the soon to be released video for their infectiously appealing song “Child of Glass” and "Image."
Outside Looking In
Dream Sequence Lyrics

picture a silhouette that i used to know
moving quite quickly pass the street ......
voices that echo to the darkness
Moving to twilights ...
a nobody's crying there yet what the hell
something the flickers ....
I'm on the outside looking in
sometimes you loose, sometimes you win
I'm on the outside looking in
I'm on the outside looking in
sometimes you loose, sometimes you win
I'm on the outside looking in
I am a stranger here ....
my unfelt dangers ...
is this a dream that i made of yesterday
something to steal and now i'm here to stay
I'm on the outside looking in
sometimes you loose, sometimes you win
I'm on the outside looking in
I'm on the outside looking in
sometimes you loose, sometimes you win
I'm on the outside looking in
I'm on the outside looking in
sometimes you loose, sometimes you win
I'm on the outside looking in
I'm on the outside looking in
sometimes you loose, sometimes you win
I'm on the outside looking in
The lyrics to Dream Sequence's "Outside Looking In" seem to be about the feeling of being an outsider in a place that was once familiar. The singer is walking through places they used to go, but now they are disconnected from everything around them. They see a silhouette that they used to know, but it's unclear if this is a real person or a memory. The "voices that echo to the darkness" suggest a feeling of isolation and loneliness.
As the song progresses, the singer seems to be questioning whether what they are experiencing is real or a dream. They wonder if they are in a place of danger, but also seem to be drawn to the flickering lights. The chorus repeats the phrase "I'm on the outside looking in," emphasizing the idea of being disconnected and unable to fully participate in what is happening around them.
The lyrics suggest a feeling of disorientation and discomfort with one's surroundings. The singer is unsure of their place in the world and feeling like an outsider. The use of dreamlike imagery adds to the sense of unreality and disconnection.
