Of a place I love
Even more than I usually do.
And although I know
It's a long road back
I promise you
I'll be home for Christmas.
So please have snow and mistletoe
And presents for the tree.
Christmas Eve will find you
(Will find you)
Where the love-light gleams.
(Love-light gleams)
I'll be home for Christmas
If only in my dreams.
(Only in my dreams)
If only in my dreams
If only in my dreams
(Christmas) (Christmas)
You can count on me, on me
Please have snow and mistletoe
And presents for the tree
I'll be, I'll be home for Christmas
I'll be, If only in my dreams
(Only in my dreams)
I'll be, I'll be home for christmas
(I'll be if only in my dreams)
I'll be, If only in my dreams
(Only in my dreams)
No I'll be home for Christmas
If only in my dreams
(Only in my dreams)
(Only in my dreams)
If only in my dreams
If Only in my dreeams
The opening lines of Drew Seeley's "I'll Be Home for Christmas" express the feeling of nostalgia and longing for a place the singer loves. The singer dreams of a place that he loves dearly and more than he usually does. Although he knows that it's a long road back to his home, he promises to be home for Christmas. The lyrics beautifully paint a picture of a person that may currently be far away from their family and friends, but their heart is still with them. The line, "I'll be home for Christmas" represents the joy, warmth, and comfort that the holiday season brings, where families and friends reunite to mark the occasion.
The chorus of "I'll Be Home for Christmas" is a message of commitment, love, and dedication from the singer to his loved ones. He assures them that they can count on him to come home for Christmas, where he hopes to find snow, mistletoe, and presents under the tree. He imagines the warmth of the love shared during the holiday season, where the love-light gleams, and they can all cherish each other's company. The final lines, "If only in my dreams," express the singer's desire to be home for Christmas, but he acknowledges that it may not be possible. Nevertheless, through these lyrics, he still sends the message of love and hope to his family, friends, and loved ones.
