Er nahm den Hörer ab und war sehr irritiert

Auf sein Hallo kam keine Antwort, doch es war ihm sofort klar

"Nicht so besonders, ich bin ehrlich." sagte sie
"Not so good, to be honest," she said

"Hat leider nichts gebracht die ganze Therapie.
"The therapy didn't help unfortunately

Ich wollte dich so spät am Abend auch gar nicht länger stören.
I didn't want to bother you so late in the evening.

Ich wollte nur noch einmal deine Stimme hören."

So viele Jahre mussten nun vergehen
So many years have passed now

"Wo bist du jetzt?" fragte er sie "Kann ich dich sehen?"
"Where are you now?" he asked her. "Can I see you?"

Er sah im Fenster wie im Spiegel sein erschrockenes Gesicht
He saw his own shocked face in the window as if in a mirror

Sie sagte "Nein" und nach 'ner Weile "Besser nicht"
She said, "No," and after a while, "Better not"
