The band is really a duo consisting of the mentioned couple, but numerous others have contributed to their albums. On their second album, Noe som har hendt, the famous norwegian writer Lars Saabye Christensen wrote the lyrics. Berggren is also a writer himself, releasing his debut novel in 1991.

Brune skjeletter
Rustne nøkler
Som ingen leter etter
Stjålne sykler
Fortau med sand
Dager med vind
Og netter av vann
April
The lyrics of Dronning Mauds Land's song "April" are reflective of the transitional nature of the month of April. The beginning of the song describes various objects, such as old Christmas trees, rusty keys, and stolen bikes, that no one seems to be looking for. This imagery may symbolize the discarded, forgotten aspects of life or the notion that things are being left behind as the world moves forward. The line "days of wind and nights of water" also reinforces a sense of changing weather patterns and instability. Despite these potentially negative connotations, the following line "It's a time for crooked smiles" suggests the possibility of finding joy and beauty even in uncertain times.
The second half of the song takes a more personal turn, with the singer addressing another person. The lyrics are ambiguous as to the identity and nature of this person, but the sentiment expressed is one of willingness to be present, to bring something to the table, and to be whoever the person wants them to be. The line "And I am who you think I am, and never who I am" speaks to the idea of perception and the various masks we wear in different situations. The song ends on a note of acceptance and encouragement to "go with style" if one needs to leave.
Overall, the lyrics of "April" convey a sense of transition and ambiguity but also the possibility of finding beauty and connection in uncertain times.
