Lay it out, honey
'Cause I can't find the way to where you're going
It started slow, on your own
Make me feel like all your cards are showing
I'm still swimming in the open
Seems like something's really broken
And I'm looking past the outlines
Making sure you're there when I find
I won't miss this chance again
Just take me there slowly
And hold me like you know me, forever
Take me there slowly
And hold me like you know me, forever
Take me there slowly
And hold me like you know me, forever
Take me there slowly
And hold me like you know me, forever
Yeah, I know you want it
Lay it out, honey
'Cause I can't find the way to where you're going
It started slow, on your own
Make me feel like all your cards are showing
I'm still swimming in the open
Seems like something's really broken
But I don't need a fix, I need a friend
And I'm looking past the outlines
Making sure you're there when I find
I won't miss this chance again
Just take me there slowly
And hold me like you know me, forever
Take me there slowly
And hold me like you know me, forever
Take me there slowly
And hold me like you know me, forever
Take me there slowly
And hold me like you know me, forever
I'm still swimming in the open
Seems like something's really broken
And I'm looking past the outlines
I won't miss this chance again
Just take me there slowly
And hold me like you know me, forever
Take me there slowly
And hold me like you know me, forever
Take me there slowly
And hold me like you know me, forever
Take me there slowly
And hold me like you know me, forever
The song "Slowly" by Dropout appears to be all about searching for and finding comfort and solace in a friend. The lyrics start by acknowledging that the other person wants something and should be honest about it. However, the singer cannot seem to figure out where this person is headed, so they want them to lead the way. The pace of the song is slow, which could be a metaphor for how the relationship is progressing.
The next part of the song talks about feeling vulnerable and exposed when in a relationship. It seems as though the singer is afraid of being hurt, and that's why they are taking it slow. They want their friend to know them in a deep and meaningful way and hold them forever. It's as if they're saying, "I'll let you in if you promise to be there awhile."
The final verses of the song seem to affirm the earlier sentiments about being honest and genuine. The line about "looking past the outlines" could mean that the singer is looking beyond external appearances to form genuine connections. They don't want to miss any opportunities, but it's important to approach these opportunities at a slow and deliberate pace.
Overall, "Slowly" seems like a song about friendship, nurturing relationships, and taking things one step at a time to create deeper connections.

Yeah, I know you want it
I understand your desire
Lay it out, honey
Tell me what you want
'Cause I can't find the way to where you're going
I can't keep up with you
It started slow, on your own
You started this at your own pace
Make me feel like all your cards are showing
You're being transparent with me
I'm still swimming in the open
I'm still uncertain
Seems like something's really broken
Something isn't right
But I don't need a fix, I need a friend
I don't need a solution, I need a companion
And I'm looking past the outlines
I'm searching beyond the surface
Making sure you're there when I find
I want you to be with me when I discover the truth
I won't miss this chance again
I won't let this opportunity slip away again
Just take me there slowly
Let's go at a comfortable pace
And hold me like you know me, forever

Lyrics:
Yeah I know you want it
Lay it out honey
Cause I can’t find the weight of where you’re going
It started slow
On your own
Make me feel like all your cards are showing
I’m still swimming in the open
Seems like somethings really broken
But I don’t need a fix, I need a friend
And I’m looking past the outlines
Making sure that you will not fight
I won’t miss this chance again
Just take me there slowly
And hold me like you know me (forever)
Take me there slowly
And hold me like you know me (forever)
Take me there slowly
And hold me like you know me (forever)
Take me there slowly
And hold me like you know me (forever)

It's incredible how music can both fix and tear apart your feelings.

This song has a progressive vibe and melody, then the deep house drop comes in and blows your mind. Possibly my favorite Proximity upload besides Runaway.
