2. Drown was an industrial metal band from Los Angeles, California.
Formed in 1987 by vocalist Lauren Boquette under the name Yesterday's Tear, Drown became one of the top drawing bands in the early 90's Los Angeles underground music scene. The line up was rounded out by Joseph Bishara (guitars/keyboards), Rob Nicholson (bass) and Todd Allen (drums) The music was the extreme opposite of the well known "sunset strip" scene going on in LA at the time. After a year being on the label, the band was released from their contract, Geffen citing the band was "too heavy" for the labels new intrest in pop music.

That year saw tours with Static X, The Clay People, Clutch, Spineshank and more. With a new label backing the band, Drown then released the Kerosene EP which featured guest vocals by Jared from (Hed) Planet Earth, Ty from Videodrone and Corporate Avenger. Due to endless label struggles vocalist Lauren ended the band in 1999 and began work on the side project "Famous" for The Tattoo The Earth Tour (summer 2000). Reflection
Drown Lyrics

Take a look back on that life
I see your eyes, I see myself
And I can't look back on that life
Forced to listen forced to learn
With the sounds of the lonely
I remember now, it takes me down
Dislocated I walked away
You feel the walls begin to build
You were the one
I'm sorry but you could've been anyone
I see you now, you show me everything
Forced to listen forced to learn
With the sounds of being all alone
I remember now, it takes me down
Leave me, leave me now
I remember now, it takes me down
Leave me, leave me now
(It never leaves)
Never
The lyrics to Drown's song "Reflection" speaks about looking back at one's life and feeling regretful. The song feels introspective, almost as if the singer is speaking to himself as much as he is addressing his listeners. The first few lines speak about how much time has passed and how the singer must now reflect on his life. He sees his own reflection in someone else's eyes and is forced to come to terms with his past. He can no longer look back on his life because he knows it hasn't been perfect. He's had his struggles and his regrets.
The second verse speaks about feeling like an outsider. The singer feels forced to learn and listen to the sounds of the lonely. This may be a reference to how he feels trapped in his own world, unable to connect to anyone. He remembers these feelings and they take him down, bringing back painful memories. The chorus repeats this line, emphasizing how these memories never really leave someone. And in the bridge, the singer is dislocated and walks away feeling as if the walls are closing in on him. He apologizes for not being able to connect with someone who wanted to connect with him but he also knows that he could've been anyone.
Overall, the lyrics to "Reflection" deal with regret and the memories that never really leave someone. It speaks about feeling disconnected and alone, and how these feelings can haunt you long after they are gone. The song is emotional and relatable, and it has resonated with many listeners.
