Boys Will Be Boys
Dua Lipa Lyrics

It's second nature to walk home before the sun goes down
And put your keys between your knuckles when there's boys around
Isn't it funny how we laugh it off to hide our fear
When there's nothin' funny here
Sick intuition that they taught us so we won't freak out
We hide our figures, doin' anythin' to shut their mouths
We smile away to ease the tension so it don't go south
But there's nothin' funny now

When will we stop sayin' things
'Cause they're all listening
No, the kids ain't alright
Oh, and they do what they see
'Cause it's all on TV
Oh, the kids ain't alright

Boys will be, boys will be
Boys will be, boys will be boys
But girls will be women
Boys will be, boys will be
Boys will be, boys will be boys
But girls will be women

I'm sure if there's somethin' that I can't find the words to say
I know that there will be a man around to save the day
And that was sarcasm, in case you needed it mansplained
I should've stuck to ballet

When will we stop sayin' things
'Cause they're all listening
No, the kids ain't alright
Oh, and they do what they see
'Cause it's all on TV
Oh, the kids ain't alright

Boys will be, boys will be
Boys will be, boys will be boys
But girls will be women
Boys will be, boys will be
Boys will be, boys will be boys
But girls will be women

If you're offended by this song
You're clearly doin' somethin' wrong
If you're offended by this song
Then you're probably sayin'

Boys will be, boys will be
Boys will be, boys will be boys
But girls will be women

When will we stop sayin' things
'Cause they're all listening
No, the kids ain't alright
Oh, and they do what they see
'Cause it's all on TV
Oh, the kids ain't alright

Boys will be, boys will be
Boys will be, boys will be boys
But girls will be women
Boys will be, boys will be
Boys will be, boys will be boys
But girls will be women

@the wolf pack that's contradiction, right there. One minute you hate men and how men are so oppressive to you and how you fear for your life around men. The next minute you want to marry men, have relationships with men and get in the bed with men. That makes no sense? Why would you get in bed or a relationship with someone you fear? You're just that stupid?

Again, if men really were like the monsters you keep portraying them as, no woman would be marrying men, and in fact all women would either be dead or caged or murdered. There would be no free women. The mere fact that you're here on YouTube is proof that there is no oppression and you're a free women.

Go marry a woman you lesbian, and so should that loveholic girl, I wonder what the love in her name implies, surely she must be talking about lesbians, because she also hates men.

Tell me one thing, do you ever get tired of constantly complaining and whining and playing the victim?

You're so pathetic, why would any man even touch women like you who hate men. You're pathetic. And so is every woman who idolizes Dua Lipa, ewww.

When I was 11 years old, I got sexually harassed. I never opened up about this story but I feel like I need to share it and get it out of my chest.

This happened 4 years ago.
It was the afternoon,I went to the beach with my aunt, her friends and my younger brother.
We had a small picnic on the sand then after half an hour decided to go swimming. Both me and my brother were like 10 or 5 meters away from our aunt swimming. She was on the other side with her friends. While me and my younger brother were playing in the water and splashing each other. Suddenly, a strange man came to us in the water and started talking to us. He carried my little brother on his back while swimming and played with him and I generally thought he was just a friendly stranger. Few minutes later, he left my brother swim by himself and he stood in front of me. He started slowly touching me in places he shouldn't be. He literally groped me, but I was too innocent and confused to understand what was happening.. I just stood there frozen with a puzzled and scared expression. I'll never forget the disgusting grin he had on his face.

I couldn't talk to my aunt about it, even though I had the chance to tell her about what happened when the man was still there. I couldn't process what happened and I felt uncomfortable about it for a few days.

Two years later, I realized that I had been sexually harassed by a pedophile. And I realized what had really happened. Ever since then, it's became my trauma. I felt guilty about it for a while because I didn't tell anyone. I also felt worried about the other girls that disgusting beings like him would assault in the future.

I wish my parents told me more about this world, but I had to learn it all the hard way. I wish I would've been taught earlier to value my body and not let anyone just touch me like this.

But it has already happened, and I learned to move on and be careful. And to be honest, I'm proud of who I became today. I'm braver now and know how to take care of myself. I have had a couple of incidents where I stood up for myself. Whether it's when I get catcalled or leered at by creeps from my balcony. I'm the last girl to let it slide!

I just love this song so much because it's relatable for me and because the line "but girls will be women" makes me feel strong.

My friend and her little sister were walking back from a gas station a block away after getting some snacks, and a truck pulled up next to them and followed them, they started running and went to a close neighbors house so he didnt know which house they lived in.

she and her her friends where walking to the gas station this time and they dropped a penny or quarter and a man behind them shouted, picked up the money and started sprinting towards them, they ran into the gas station for safety.

I was 12 and my mother sent a picture of me and my sister cooking or playing a board game together to her cousins (f-55ish, m- 60ish) they started talking about how my female upper body part was growing in more than my sisters who is 2 years older than me. I was wearing sweatpants and a hoodie or jacket so they hand to be looking close to see through the bulky clothes.

I was 6ish when a kid in my class threw a small bouncy ball that hit my butt, the group of boys started laughing and joking about it.

No matter what age women can all have one or more bad experiences with boys, we all have the right to be uncomfortable around them and be scared doing normal things. <3

I'm scrolling through so many top comments seeing people get attacked by men saying feminism is bad. I'm going to get attacked for the following but I don't even care anymore.

Feminism isn't
Women > men
Its
Women = men
Feminism isn't a bad thing. I am in no way excusing women to silent men, that's just terrible. A true feminist will advocate for both mens and womens rights.

A lot of people have also been saying its ridiculous that the song was made just about women. I'm not saying that men don't get sexually harassed or raped, it just happens more to women. This song was made to spread awareness about womens problems, it doesn't say mens problems don't exist. Its a bit like it someone makes a video educating people on cancer they don't get attacked because other people have heart disease and they should've included both. When people talk about the high rates of female sexual harassment and rape, they say men have it harder because the suicide rates are higher. We understand the suicide rates are higher, and that is a problem, but people don't then attack you saying 'but women also commit suicide'. In fact I've had many suicide attempts but I still support videos on mens suicide rates, mainly because I can understand the priority here. This is our point, sexual harassment doesn't only happen to women , but it happens more. The first time I've been sexually harassed I was 11, it was my uncle. Since then I've hadrandom guys try to hold my hands and etc. That's my reason for being scared of men. I saw someone comment that a 25 year old women ran away from the when they were 16, during the night. They called it ridiculous.may seem ridiculous 2 you but u don't know what that person have been through . There are certainly points i haven't proved in this comment and people might attack me with those but in that case I'll just edit it. I don't care whether or not you attack me.

It’s weird how the most powerful songs are the most underrated.
