Do you hear music, its in my head, its in my head
Do you hear music, its in my head, its in my head
I'm ageing and changing on the outside
But staying the same on the inside I find
We never grow old unless you use your eyes
Yes I'm ageing and changing on the outside
But staying the same on the inside I find
So see my heaven raining down inside of me
Time will always dictate evolution
So I let it wash all over me
Like waterfalls of memories eternally
See my heaven raining down inside of me
Time will always dictate evolution
So I let it wash all over me
Like waterfalls of memories eternally
Do you hear music, its in my head, its in my head
Do you hear music, its in my head, its in my head
I'm melting away my existence is gone
The life that I once had means nothing at all
I am lost in time, slow down
I'm melting away my existence is gone
The life that I once had means nothing at all
I am lost in time, slow down
Do you hear music, its in my head, its in my head
Do you hear music, its in my head, its in my head
The lyrics to Dub Fx's song In My Head explore the concept of internal growth and change, despite the external appearance of aging. The repetition of "Do you hear music?" throughout the song emphasizes the idea that this internal growth and change is an ongoing process, akin to a musical beat that never ends. The artist recognizes that they may be physically changing on the outside, but they remain the same person on the inside. They suggest that the key to maintaining this internal youth is through actively using one's senses and mind to appreciate the world around them, rather than simply existing in a passive state.
The chorus of the song repeats the phrase "See my heaven raining down inside of me," which suggests a deep connection to one's inner self and reflects a sense of peace and contentment. The lyrics acknowledge the importance of allowing time and experiences to shape this internal evolution, rather than resisting or trying to control it. In this way, the song takes a more philosophical approach to the concept of aging and personal growth.

Having this song stuck in your head is a very enjoyable paradox...
@dantheman4421
Right? Makes it stick there all the more. Dub Fx's work is incredibly
good, just about 95% of ALL his songs I absolutely LOVE. AND he's not
beholden to any record company; he's gotten famous from busking and
being filmed doing it, eventually making it onto youtube and then
becoming famous.
